Anybody know where I can purchase a speed sensor for the ZF Transmission? I tried the Company in New York that bought the Transmissions but they only have the housings, no parts. GM Part #'s 25007308 and 25007224. Much appreciated.

The '91+ will work and should be available locally. You'll need to change the connector but all else should be fine. Very inexpensive.
Use the GM # 10456089 as a reference locally and the connector is a local find also. The same AP store will have it also.

Well, sad to say, It didn't work after all. Went to every Auto parts store around for a 20 mile radius and was told that part/part# has been discontinued. Even called several companies online to no avail. Tried that number and every iteration of it found and not to be.
So I'm still in search for a VSS for my 1990 ZR1 ZF transmission. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

well i can confirm on thing for sure, there are no more vss for 1990 zf 6 speed trannys. about a year ago I had my vss fail and I began looking for a vss and found out they cant be found. i then researched and found the company who produced them for gm and they told me that they didnt have any more. i asked the lady if she could have somebody go to the warehouse and look in the bins to make sure and she complied.
I was extremely lucky that her stock person found one deep in a empty bin hidden where they used to reside wedged in a corner. i paid a ridiculous amount 250.00 for a 30 dollar part and received it. i installed it and problem solved. i heard you can modify a 91 vss to fit but cant verify that. this is going to be a big problem when those 1990 vss start to crap out after 25 years.

OP
I believe that there is stock available. You've used maybe poor sourcing. I've located several of the later. I have a used early correct for a '90 I believe. I sold the last two NOS for the '90 that I had earlier this year.

so who do you think would stock one?? If the original manufactuer said no and gm says no and all the major auto parts stores say no then where? I would love to know so I can pick up more. there always is a chance a clandestine dealer of years ago has one up in some dusty bin that they forgot about but the chances of finding one is very slim.
I believe in hope and maintaining some sort of positive attitude during a bad time like finding a vss for a z but it is going to be very tough to locate one. What do you think a vss would go for now? Mine went bad with only 45k miles so they dont seem so durable.
