I did the almost unthinkable last week.
After 11 1/2 years of ownership I sold my ZR-1.
Sold to a registry member who lost his ZR-1 to a fire.
Going to pay off my C6 and put an LS3 in my Ruby or
trade the C6 in for a C7.
Going to keep my membership here to stay in touch with my ZR-1 friends plus I never know what I might buy tomorrow!;)

We'll see I bet you will miss the ZR-1 and have to get another!!!
Good Luck in any adventure you embark on.
LS3 in a ruby. I'm liking that idea John ! Keep us in the loop.

You know it went to a good home and at least it remains in Wazoo land.

I talked to Ed and surprised of you selling your 94 #077.
I won't be surprised to hear of you getting another ZR-1 down the road. I've done it and so have a few others.
We'll be sure to take good care of your old #077.

I did the almost unthinkable last week ...
what do you mean "almost"???
hard to believe, John ... but I'll bet you catch the Z bug down the road and get another. Definitely keep in touch, esp. with more info on the LS3 ... that sounds very interesting.

I know how you feel John. I am hoping I sell my 95 to a Registry member and certainly plan to stay involved if I do. Too many years, friends and memories not to stay involved with or without a ZR-1. --Bob

Well, it went to a good home. At least. And, of course we'll expect to see you on the MR4 next spring, even if you're handicapped with your C6. (We'll try to take it easy on you! LOL!)
Look forward to seeing you again, come spring!!!

I'm in shock! I never would have expected this.... But your Z went to a good guy. Congrats Ed, and John, I hope there will be another Z that comes along and catches your interest.

I don't think of the C6 is a handicap more like an upgrade! May even be more upgraded to a C7, working on that!

Actually the C7 I want has 3 cams! LOL!

John, It has been my pleasure to meet and know you. I am glad you are staying on with the group. I am 110% sure the ZR-1 bug will bite you in the future.
Hi everyone!
I'm reviving this post hoping that some of you are still following the forum!
I just purchase car No. 0077. A 93 40th anniversary. Seeing the above post, I thought it might be the same car?
Just unsure about the 94 vs 93 indicated in the above posts.
Hope to be able to validate that!
Thanks in advance!

I developed a 1993 40th ZR-1 database several years ago. your #077 was one of the few that had no history at all, except for the single fact that it was shipped to Florida from BG. If you have any names, places, dates, corresponding mileage information, I would be glad to fill it in and send you the database. You can email me jerry@jerrysgaskets.com
Hi Jerry, very interesting!
I'll contact you - I have little information other than it was exported to Europe when almost brand new. After that, it disappeared until a few days ago.

Let me humbly suggest if you are thinking of a C7, go for a Z06. I sold my last ZR-1 in 2016 and while I miss it, I love the Z06 I ordered shortly thereafter. A great comfortable touring car that with 650 HP & TQ is quite a lot of fun to drive. I figured at my age I was entitled to 30-year newer technology, a warranty and an automatic. Love the A8 paddle shift automatic, but manual transmissions were available. It is up on top of my lift November 15-April 1 but the rest of the time the BMW 5 Series is up most of the time and the Z06 is my daily driver. 23,000 miles so far and only a few minor problems (not counting a broken valve spring). According to my research, the valve spring was an extremely rare occurrence with the Z06's LT4 engine, so I wouldn't worry about something like that and it was covered under an extended warranty I bought anyway. --Bob
