New Zr1 owner, 1990. Had a question pertaining to full power mode. My key does not come out of the switch and Im afraid to give it a good tug (a problem for another day) I also dont have any indicators as to if the car is indeed at full power. I cannot for the life of me get the back end to break loose or squeal. Has Nitto 315's with about 40% tread left. I've owned a few C4s a Z06 and a few Ls cars but this is my first LT. Just putting the car threw its paces verifying everything. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum :handshak:
This may help Power Key Rebuild TIPS (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15255)
Left Click on anything I have underlined as they are links to interesting information.....usually.....:D
I would remove the Switch as described in the link above and work on the Key Removal on the bench AND recondition the Switch as Kevin described in the above link.
I have reconditioned four Full Power Switches exactly as Kevin described and they all work perfectly.
When Full Power Key is ON.....the Panel on the 1990 above Bose Radio will show FULL ENGINE POWER as shown by a photo provided by bamawrx.
On the 1991 there is a small green light to right and above Full Power Switch that lights up when Full Power Switch is turned on.
On the 1991 The Panel as shown below will be blank when the Full Power Switch is turned on unless there are error codes present.

my 4/32nd gsd3's don't break loose either in gear, the 1-2 shift will spin them. If you're not getting the full power light on the dash you need to rebuild the switch. It should be easy to get the key out. Turn it to the.....left? it's been so long since I used it I forget, and it should slip out

The engine will fall on it's face around 5 grand if you're not in "Full Power". Second or third gear, it should fly to 7K rpm. If it starts to level out at around 5000 rpm, you have a problem. -Steve
