Hey guys . Hope you are all well . From what I can tell it looks like someones email may have been hacked . I got an email from Robert Demarco and all it said was ( Hi , how are you ) but has an attachment with it . I was not sure if it were a virus or not , but just wanted to give you guys a heads up . If Robert did send the email out , then no problem .

A lot of that BS going on, apparently. I received an infected email from my brother, and I've gone through hell (not to mention $$$; another story, too.)

"Cute" little messages like that are hard to detect, but I had a couple like it - is how my fiasco began. You need to be or know of a good IT guy to deal with that crap! They used to hang horse thieves...to stop that annoyance. Maybe time to resurrect that old tradition...for a new kind of nuance crime...Grrrrrrrr....

I got the same, and had gotten it about a year ago as well. Robert said one of his accounts got hacked. Maybe he will update.--Bob

Delete any email that sounds like a robot wrote it. Don't ever open attachments.
If necessary ask sender( and I mean don't just hit REPLY) to send it again.

Hackers schlep thru online accounts and steal address books and account names. Then they use the addresses to spam folks in the list. Solution: keep your email address book private on your Mac or PC - NEVER keep your address books on a cloud server like yahoo, gmail, etc. And make sure your Mac or PC's firewall is active, else your local address book can be stolen the same way.

Also, change your server password on a regular basis. Make it strong one ... lots of strange strings with numerals, caps and punctuation.

over and out,
Glenn

Everything Glenn said plus ...
if you like to send emails to multiple recipients, put all their email addresses in the BCC area and if you receive emails with multiple recipients in the address area, encourage the sender to use BCC.

I've gotten the same email several times.
