Hi-
My headlight dimmer switch broke. I can see the broken plastic pieces/parts in the steering column, and the stalk won't snap into the "high-beam" position. Wanted to have the switch in hand before I dive into the steering column.
If anyone has one to offer, feel free to let me know your price to purchase.
Almost forgot, it has to be from/for a 1991 ZR-1, as the switch was different from 92-96.
Thanks for the help!

is the dimmer at the lower part of the column bad?
or is it a piece up in the stalk by the lever?
Pictures would help, I have a spare column at home and might have what you need

Hi-
I appreciate your help! It's not the stalk. It's the actual switch on the bottom of the steering column. A photo is difficult as I have not disassembled the column. I have captured an image out of the service annual, however.
Thanks again for the assist.

Your image isn't working*** but if you can see pieces of the part "IN THE COLUMN" it is NOT the dimmer switch that's at the bottom of the column. That switch is external of the column.
If it is the EXTERNAL switch they're actually all the same. I believe I've seen the comment somewhere else about application but I can assure you that they're the same. That switch fits many cars, trucks and even some JEEP.
They seldom fail. What fails is the wiper/pivot generally at the top of the column that the stalk actually attaches to. That has applications for '90 - '93.
The generally failed part is #23 in this image and the external switch is #83. In the column it's possible that the dimmer rod actuator #21 has failed. You could see that in the column maybe. It could be black (generally) but white isn't out of the question.

Here's an eBay link for #21 GM# 7827028 that you can use to inspect and ZOOM

*** for me on this computer it's not. On another with IE11 also it is and that's the external dimmer that you've included from the FSM. Without disassembling the column but removing only the knee bolster and it's reinforcement your first check needs to be the manual check of the rod from the pivot/wiper will actually activate the dimmer manually. You should be able to do this easily and I'm guessing you'll get the click and operation. Dimmer rod is #77 in my first link. The dimmer can be done without column removal generally and the first thing to do is secure the rod to the column before unbolting the switch. Tape or a cable tie works.

Hey John - I certainly hope it helps - If you need some snapshots of a column I believe either Jeff or I would be happy to help.
Just ask!

Yep. I just finished ( well as far as I could) the swap of the 89 steering rod and tilt into a 1990 housing
