I have a rear hatch release button in the center console and it works, but I read that there should also be a hatch release on the driver door jamb? not on my Z! is this a ZR-1 thing because our doors are a bit wider? Am I looking in the wrong place? Do other Z's have the hatch release button(s) on the door jamb?
Thanks

I've got three. One in the center console, and one on each door. Not in the jam, but on the door itself.

They changed over the years, It should be on the rear edge of the door panel at some point they dropped the passenger side hatch release. I'm sure someone will chime in as to when.

When the door trim changed in '94 the door switch on the RH side went away also I'm quite sure, the switch for the earlier years was in the arm rest section and they I'm sure seized the opportunity to maybe save some $$$'s.

Your 91 should have 3 buttons. One in the console and two on the back edges of the inner door panels. Run your hand along the back edge of the inner door panel from top to midpoint and you will find the toggle button. Its marked in orange lettering as well. The same toggle is on the opposite door panel. The toggle faces towards the rear of the car where the door jamb meets the rear quarter panels.

WV is correct on the 94-96 C4s. To save a buck or two the right side door panel toggle was deleted however the bump out where it was susposed to go was still there on the door panel. GM just didnt punch out the hole

Did you also know you have a spare tire light as well ? 92 was the last year for that option as well

Don't be embarrassed if nobody ever asked. Nobody would know

The switch has always been on the rear door panel going back to 84.

I always know they are on the doors. I open the hatch every time I clean the doors with a rag. Always makes me jump.
