So I looked at what the cost of 100 additional HP would cost for the new Z06. $17,00 to take you from 650 to 750+.
So 10K to take you from 375/405 to 510 is not that bad of a deal.

AND TOO....
The benefit that is a little less obvious (with the LT5) is the retained reliability and driveability; not much more liability for the upgrade than installing new lug nuts!!:dancing

I don't think the Callaway is having an issue with reliability, Chris Chessnoe 606 HP C6 daily driver has almost 200K miles on it.

Yes. The Callaway ZO6 platform gives you 757hp for $17K, Lingenfelter LT1 Platform gives you 750HP for $25K.
Lingenfelter does have a 720hp Z06 upgrade for 4K.
757HP for less than $110K. What is the cost of the La Ferrari $3.2M
C6 Corvette ZO6 427 CID LS7 660 HP 11K installed at LPE.
That will keep most big inch stroker LT5's in the rear view.
Sorry guys but that's reality.

LSA CTS-V Wagon 700HP $11,245. And you would get you azz spanked by a station wagon.

C'mon, Robert. You are comparing apples to oranges, baby. You know that.
You could spend about $100k pick up a Hellcat and ship it down here to Texas (Hennessey) and have 850HP. And word is he's working on a 1000HP version. Just another example of apples to oranges.

You got that right.

BTW, Procharger has a kit for the new Z06. It is adds 100 HP right off the bat without changing tuning. It can go up to 1000 HP.

Common guys,, just put about 4 bottles on NOS into that LT5 (500HP shot) for a 1000 horse one time use speed exhibition. :)
Seriously I was having a discussion with the wife about how much power cars are making and the added cost of a $20000-30000 engine mods are just not worth the effort on a 25year old Corvette. So I decided to just make it look faster while standing still and look even more badas s. 510 horses will just have to work for now. Well for me at least.
HP & TQ are very addictive :-D

If there was a solid kit for supercharging or turbo'ing these motors big power could be made I'm sure. Fill the cylinder water jackets with some concrete to stabilize the cylinders, and boost away.
I have seen quite a few 944 Turbo guys do this process and make big power.

It might be a bit obvious, but I also think the 510 package is a great value for getting plenty of power at a reasonable cost. Combined with a 4.10 rear, a little exhaust modification it is certainly a substantial improvement over the stock 405. Very noticeable yet tractable around town, super durable and reliable. While I don't have experience with nitrous or adding super- or turbo- chargers I have to believe that there is less risk with an essentially stock naturally aspirated LT5 in Marc's 510 package.--Bob

Agreed, Marc's package is, to me at least, the C4 ZR-1 at it's very best. But after i've owned a couple of turbos, I'm so impressed that I would love to see a reasonably priced package for a "street" turbo, or supercharged LT5, that would stay with the big dogs without mortgaging the farm to do it.
I guess it's just a little too late for that.
