Today i met marc when i picked up my 1991 turq z. I was not able to meet him when i dropped it off. Wow. Wow. Wow. Had the engine refinished turquoise, 4.10 gears, his chip, short throw shifter, long tube headers. Words cant even begin to describe how happy i am with his customer service and finished product. Unreal. Ive NEVER met someone with the knowledge or talent in any field be so humble, down to earth, and just a nice person. To the penny of the quote. He treated my car like it was his. When he found something broke, i was notified of cost to fix, it was fixed. Ive stood in my garage and stared at this engine for hours. When i figure out how to post pictures i will. Im speechless but feel i need to say something.

Welcome to the club and also welcome to the Marc Haibeck Appreciation Society
Between Marc Haibeck and Jerry of Jerry's Gaskets there "aint nothing" that cannot be fixed/modified on the ZR-1/LT5.

Beautiful car.
Beautiful engine.
Nice Turquoise ( I once got beaten down by a Z owner
because I called his car Turquoise, not "AQUA")
Yes, Marc is a great asset to the Corvette community!

Lol. Mine is turquoise. Aqua came later? I love when people call mine a "GIRL" color...makes sense...my car has gotten more attention from women than i get...and a lot more than my buddies get. Lol. No complaints on my end.

That looks fantastic, and I'm sure it runs as good as it looks. Congrats. That's always going to grab attention and compliments.

I have gone to Marc with my previous cars and he is great to work with. If/when I ever get another ZR-1, I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again.

Marc should open up branch offices around the US (and the world?) so we can all easily use his services. :-)

That looks great!!!!!! Marc did my car years ago and he was to the penny on everything back then. I was driving him nuts with all the little mods i kept requesting. :dancing

Thanks everyone! And i think he must be use to the add on requests. Lol. My project started as headers and refinish...add the hex bolts...add the gears...add the shifter...fix the window switch...add the chip...and on and on. I felt bad bugging him every other night with questions and such. He sure didnt seem to mind.

Did you buy the car from Strowbridge? How is he ... we haven't heard from him for a long time? Was the car a turq or did you change the color?

The car is a turq. I bought from doug gifford out of indiana. He bought from phil bender (west coast i think), bill strowbridge was the original owner. I know him only through email. Mr strowbridge has had some health issues. He sold beast 2 (doug johnsons old black widow). I try to send him updates on the car when i can.

love your engine. I am hoping to send mine to aaron scott at south georgia corvette for engine refinishing and odds and ends. I have a black car so I will probably go with a black shiny motor. Love your turq car and engine!!

Very nice indeed - congratulations! Ditto for all the compliments to Saints Marc and Gerry! Both should be in the NCM HOF for all they do to keep such an important part of Corvette history alive and "on the road". We tried this (for Marc) three years ago; maybe it's time to dust off and upgrade the submission.

Completely agree about the ncm hof.

Agree 100% that Marc is one of the very best. I wish I was a little closer to Chicagoland. Along with Marc, there's Pete (amazing 129 mph) and also Dom (tuning) and Lee (porting). It's hard to give all of the Chicago crew the credit they deserve for their development and overall skills for the LT5.

These guys are hard to beat!

Pete did my Turq Monster motor and Marc is fine tuning my Prototype motor.

When I picked my z up on May 20 your turquoise cam covered and plenum were lying on Marc's benches ready for reassembly. Ghorgous engine as well as your car!!!!! Marc is the best. The fact that he makes a living on only about 6000 cars scattered all over the world speaks volumes of his skill and reputation!!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing that! The fact there are not many zr-1s its an amazingly small world. Seems everyone knows everyone's cars. I keep my cars former owners informed as much as possible. This forum helps. We live half the country apart and you know something about my car. (And got to see it first). When i walked in i wish someone recorded it. I was nearly screaming (in joy) and im pretty sure the f bomb was dropped a few times. I was expecting nice. I was not expecting to be completely floored. Thanks for sharing the story.
