My wife and I are planning to attend. I haven't seen my ZR-1 since dropping it off at the body shop mid-March for a new paint job. I have a big, long list of things to do to it when I get it back (next week?). Meanwhile I'm twiddling my thumbs and resisting the urge to call the body shop twice a day to see if it's ready yet.
I'm really looking forward to the trip, especially the sessions with racers/speakers. The Mountain Runs, autocross and factory tour (and being away from work) should be fun, too.

I plan on attending.....I am having a very hard time figuring out what I want to drive. Do I drive the Lingenfelter; don't really want to put the miles on her to and fro. Do I trailer her behind the '55 bus; this will be the first trip out in it since I have it ready to tour; nervous about the length of the first trip all the way to Bowling Green and have to borrow a trailer. Do I trailer behind the 4.8 Chevy short bed truck; would have to borrow a trailer.............

Will be at MR and The Gathering for the first time. Really looking forward to it. My wife, Linda, is joining me. Picking up the Zee in an hour from Marc after a five-month separation. With 510 pkg, 410s, (it's a long list of upgrades), I "think I'll experience a difference".
See everyone in a few weeks. Bob

Starting with the MR3 too!
Planning on arriving Thursday, late afternoon. Bringing along some good friends from Stillwater.....
Rick Kirk, RK Machine
Heavily involved in outside machine shop services during engine development and early production, lots of great LT5 history stories.
Greg VanDeventer, Mercruiser
Involved in the LT5 manufacturing program from the beginning and many special LT5 projects along the way. Still doing custom LT5 port work on heads, inj housings and plenum. He's top of the craft.
Chris Allen, Mercruiser
Tapped by Mercury to develop the LT5 production line, Chris was one of the initial Mercury personnel to be involved in the LT5 program.
Rick & Greg have made the 1500 mile round trip with me before. Those trips were the seemingly shortest 11hr trips I've ever made. Talked the whole way and never ran out of topics.
We will be towing the Lingenfelter 415 Aerobody ZR-1.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
PS: will be bringing some gaskets, seals & a few typical parts, coils, wires, alternator, starter, etc. in case someone needs something while there.

Here's my car as of 8 days before the Mountain Runs / C4 Gathering. It's going to be a busy week.
Car was black when I bought it (originally turquoise) but I always wanted a yellow Corvette. Silly me thought it'd be no problem getting it painted before the big event.
Oh, and also this week: New brakes, shocks, tires, wheels and stereo.
I know it will all be worth it come next Monday.

Craig,
Hey Miami Craig,
Yes, very close production numbers. I moved last year this time and at first was disappointed to finally be back home after all my military time elsewhere, they off to CA weeks later. Now I love it here and not sure I want to go back; Hawaii is home so probably not. The thing is these cars can surely be enjoyed more here in the mainland than the rock. The years you were there I was stationed elsewhere. Looking forward to meeting you too and see you in BG soon.

Hope to still make it guys...my mom had a small heart attack yesterday. We were able to open the vessel back up and place a stent to keep it open. Luckily they got her in the cath lab quickly and she looks good today. It will depend on when she gets out as to weather or not I'll be there. Still planning on it though. Way too excited about attending this year!

Waze is the bomb! I use it all the time on trips. Works better than the navigation in either of our daily drivers. Spot on with its eta feature too. There's an article in this weeks Auto Week about one of the editors using it to cross Florida in a McClaren. Worked like a charm!

I don't really remember it even asking those things the first time I downloaded it, which was a couple years ago. I had to delete it and re download it last week and as I went through the install, it would ask if I wanted to allow Waze to ___, and you could either allow or skip. You might need to uninstall and then reinstall the new version.
efnfast
05-10-2015, 09:16 AM
It want's: calender, contacts, SMS, photos, camera, microphone, among the things it might need. When I hit the install button, it doesn't give me the option to not install these items. Sometimes the payed version will allow you to opt out of some of those things. I don't see a paid version.

I don't know then buddy. It gave me the option when I downloaded it. I did the free version. Not sure if there's many other versions out there. Might have something to do with the phone/cellular provider. I'm with Verizon/Apple.

We're one third of the way there, having joined MR in north Georgia yesterday afternoon. My hastily assembled ZR-1 is doing pretty well if you don't count little nuisance issues (one front speaker working, passenger window only goes down 3-4", fuel gauge always reads full, ...).
The parking lot here at Fontana Village is REALLY impressive and I'm sure at BG it will be even more so. Yesterday while driving in the group it was fun to see people's reactions. Lots of thumbs up. It's fun putting faces to screen names and ZR-1 discussions are great.
