Hi! Just wanted to say thanks to all that voted and even a thanks to all that didn't vote in the elections. For those of you that dont know me, my name is Chris Gilliand and I will be the National Corvette Museum / Race Director for the coming term. I have been involved with Corvettes for over 20 years, and I look forward to bringing as much as I can to my new position. I have some ideas I will be running by you in the near future, like special ZR1 gatherings / events preceeding the Rolex race series around the country, local ,for fun, drag and road course events run in tandem with track day companies and the like. If anyone would like to contact me with ANY suggestions feel free to call me at 205 966 2484 or email me at corvette95@charter.net . I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to meeting everyone that I have yet to meet yet. I also want to acknowledge the great work done by Buzz Marston, the current NCM/ Race Director, who has done a great job along with his other work on the NCM board in Bowling Green.
I will keep everyone updated!

welcome aboard. I'd love to hear more about the racing plans. I'd like to do the maxton "flying mile" in NC this spring. it's a hoot. the folks in vegas did a flying mile recently and everyone has alot of fun. I'd also like to hit VIR or Summit and just do some playing.

great to have you with us. look forward to discussion of some BG events. I think we should try and join the NMCA drag racing again this year. we didn't get that many runs, but it was still alot of fun (even if I did blow up my clutch!!)

I'm still the Veep until dave steps down, that will be the new year.

Dave,

again, thanks for everything, it will be great to continue to server the club in my new capacity. you have done an outstanding job in creating the best ZR-1 club ever. I'm proud to continue in your tradition, but there can only be one MOM

I Hope to do a lot of "for fun" type events...both road course ,drag , and as you suggested "flying miles" type events. I want to organize smaller events more evenly distrubuted across the country so ZR1 owners in smaller territories can do a simple weekend event without worrying about hotels, transportation and things like that. I have been involved in Motorcycle Roadracing for many years and hope to use some of my racing park contacts for co-op deals. We''ll see ???
