When I put my car on the market in November, this forum was one of the most active in the Registry. Since then,,nothing, nada, crickets! It's Springtime and no one is talking about The Gathering at BG for the 25th Anniversary,no state gatherings being planned, not a single post since November. :( Surely we can do better than that. I know everyone of you has their own life to live but C'Mon!
A ZR-1 is a terrible thing to waste,my friends.

I'm ready. I haven't spent much time with the old girl. Too much work, not enough play. I think it's time we hit Decatur for a north Texas event. Anybody up for it?

My car hasn't been driven in months, either. If I'm not working that weekend,Decatur sounds like a good plan.

What's up, bro? We're all hiding in our caves soaking up the coolness. You guys want to do another meet maybe where we met before at the park? Or we could go to Salt Licks for some BBQ or something.

Nada. You are right bout hiding in man cave. First rain then heat. I'm up for either. Cool place inside wth BBQ might be better. As long as they let us smoke cigars of course. Where is Salt Licks?

Dripping Springs. Southwest of Austin. Great BBQ and a really cool place. Google it. They have outside dining but I'm not sure about the cigars.

How many can you resurrect down your way to join us?

Sounds good. So, if you guys are ok with it let's make it 8/22. And is everyone ok with Salt Lick BBQ? I thought it was in Dripping Springs but it's actually in Driftwood. Here's a map:

It's great BBQ if you haven't been. Indoor and outdoor dining. I believe they only take cash.

Leroy1 has confirmed and if time permits Mark Horner is going to try and make it out. So, it looks like a decent get together. Looking forward to meeting some of you for the first time and seeing a couple of you again.

I'm leaving tomorrow to come on down and hang out around Blanco and Johnson City. You guys be careful in your travels and we'll see you on Sat.

Folks from Houston:

I can meet you along the way, either Burton on US 290 or LaGrange on Tx 71. I expect 9:00 am at either town will allow an 11:00 am arrival at Salt Lick.

Let me know.

It was great to see everyone again and meet a few new owners.

Leroy, I hated to hear of your electrical problem. I was looking forward to meeting you. What ended up being the problem? I'm guessing alternator or possibly a ground issue?

Leroy1

Folks,

Sorry I missed the fun at Salt Lick. Hope you enjoyed my share of the BBQ.

The electrical problem turned out to be at what the shop manual calls the "jump start junction block". It is between the battery and the firewall, and is where a multitude of fusible links terminate on a threaded post. The retaining nut on mine had loosened and continuity to several of the circuits was lost. To remedy, I removed all the links from the post, polished the eye terminals with 80 grit, and reassembled with de-oxider paste. I tightened the nut back down as much as I dared considering the bottom of the post is set in a plastic body. A 50 mile round trip earlier today appears to prove the remedy.

Thanks to the Houston caravan for sending someone back to check on my wife and me. My Saturday worker was summoned with trailer and winch, and the only loss for the day was face and a nice lunch.

Looking forward to the next opportunity to ride and dine with you folks.
