All,

Everyone is anticipating a great show at the Gathering this year, and we have some really historical cars lined up for display in the NCM to celebrate 25 Years.
These historic cars tell the story of the ZR-1 in its earlier days, but the BOD also thought this would be an appropriate time to also recognize the efforts of some of our members who continue to push the envelop and carry the torch for the ZR-1 and the HOTB, LT-5. So we discussed having a Special Display of member vehicles that demonstrate how the ZR-1 continues to be a relevant car even when compared to current technology. The Special Selection will showcase owners and their vehicles that continue to make a contribution to moving the ZR-1 forward using newer technology, materials, and modifications. We are asking the members to suggest member rides that demonstrate that cutting edge of ZR-1 performance. It does not need to be just engine mods. As examples, I would nominate the following:

1. Pete Polatsidis stock block 5.7 L for his work on cams and porting.
2. Bob Gillig for his 7L using Dual Clutch trans, Closed Deck
3. Kevin Costello 441 w Auto and Closed Deck
4. Phil Wasinger for his recent 402 build
5. Al Dashto 441 w DC, Closed Deck and 31 spline rear wheel bearings.
6. Marc Haibeck and any number of his creations.
7. Todd Pepmeir and his trailblazing 427 w custom valvetrain and cylinder head porting.

So you get the picture. We'd like to have about 10 vehicles on display outside the NCM Convention Center windows. Give us your recommends.

without knowing who's going it's hard to say who should be on the list. I'd say marks 385 if he's bringing it. any of the lpe tt cars that will be there

Kevin,

What we are looking for are cars where the owner has done something to it that pushes the envelop. Want to celebrate some of the DIY quality. An LPE TT is a Lingenfelter.

Dom:

I had posted something early in this discussion, but it was either deleted or maybe I did something during its submission.

But in celebrating the C4 generation, why not have some prominent cars from the thirteen year run on display.

1986 Convertible
1988 35th Anniversary Car
1990 ZR-1 (Maybe a yellow one)
1995 Pace Car
1995 ZR-1 (Book end ZR-1's) Maybe find unique colors
1996 Comemerative Edition Car

You get my idea.

I am planning on driving #077 to BG. Would this car be appropriate
For the list?

It was a 1Y0 car used as a test mule for CPC till it was auctioned off by GM in 1995.
