It's time for headers, getting sw headers just wondering is their different size collectors 2/1-2 ,3".what about converters.if I remove them will your eyes burn from fumes or get high flow cats.I do have flowmaster force cat back 2-1/2 system. Thanks, spring is right around the corner!!:dancing

I love the way it sounds with flowmaster force II cat back.quiet at idle and sweet at wot!!.by removing resonator & replace with x pipe & sw headers is it going to be really loud?or keep resonator on.(flowmaster resonator)

Unless you get Stainless Works short headers or the clone OBX shorties, the catalyst will need to be compact as there is only so much room in the trans tunnel. The shorties pretty much locate the collectors where the oem cats resided and will be optimal for cats with all the heat shields and extra room there. Collectors will be 3". I used LS7 cats on mine since they are compact 3" factory cats with plenty of rare earths in it to actually do something.

When I installed my OBX headers, I went with no cats. After even a quick 5-minute drive, I'd return with my clothes reeking of exhaust fumes. (And my car was tuned by Marc, so there was nothing wrong with it.) I'd never do that again without cats. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

On my set of Jeal headers I went with Random Techs Hi Flow cats. For the above reasons and because it was the right thing to do

I plan to get myself a set of SW headers this summer, along with some high flow cats. Was thinking either Random Technologies or the ones SW uses...anyone have any data as to pros or cons to either? Thanks !

That looks nice&clean did you customize it or did it come in bolt on pieces.did you noticed a big difference with headers.

The cats, flex sections and forward Corsa pipes were custom fitted and welded up. No question about improved performance over the stock exhaust system.

For SW headers what length o2 extensions are needed?

Are they needed for both sides?

All I needed was a 10" extension on the passenger side. Driver side was fine.

I just got my SW headers and they came with the O2 sensor extension and header bolts.

We had a group buy last year...otherwise directly from SW. I did purchase the adapter kit from them to mate up to my stock pipe outside of the GB so i know they sell direct.

Are you running stock cats?

Are you running stock cats?

Yes and no....and yes.

I had to pass my emissions test so the whole shebang is stock at the moment- manifolds to muffler tips (I cut out the resonator tho).

Before that I had my Watson headers (no longer made) running into LS7 cats (oem for a c6-Z06) and into an x-piped SW 3" system. Before before that I briefly ran no cats into my stock cat-back until I could get the parts together for the big loud 3" job. I didn't want to weld up my stock catback so I ordered the adapter kit to hook up the headers to get me on the road. I ran catless for a couple of months and I did not like it. The 3" pipes with cats was faster...mainly the muffler restriction I reckon.

so yes, no, and yes on the stock catalysts.
