Do the 90-92 Zs have the same problem with the wiper motor circuit boards that the other cars and trucks of the time did? my wipers have been wonky a couple times in the past few weeks.

thx

Generally replaced only the two "contacts" to the board while many shops and others replaced covers, park switches etc. The "contact" package used to be 22054236 GM and there were two in the package.

Majority of the OE wiper motors were very similar in construction/assembly and the failures of all were generally similar.

I haven't experienced this issue on my Z but have on 3 different Chevy trucks/vans.

Try this for a repair: remove the circuit board and check the solder tracings on the circuit board where the electrical connector plugs in. I discovered (on the truck circuit boards) hairline cracks in the solder on the circuit board. They can be hard to see but should be visible with a magnifying glass.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, carefully heat up the affected area, apply a small amount of solder to re-tin the break (effectively re-soldering the circuit board), clean up residue, and reinstall. Took less time to repair than removing/replacing in the truck. Don't know if this will work for the Z but if it's similar, it might be the problem. BTW, the connection that was always cracked happened to be the ground connection which helps explain the erratic behavior. Good luck.
