My car has had a lot of owners. From what I can tell it is more than the average car. This doesn't bother me that much, but the PO to me gave me the old For Sale ad. It had some mods listed and I would like to confirm they were actually done or what the history of the car is. I found an old insurance card from a PO in the car and tried to Facebook him with 0 success. I bought the car from Iowa, previous to that it was in Illinois.

I'm sure most of the owners on here have a well documented history of their cars, and I would like to get some of that on mine. I keep all receipts even of my previous cars. I was the first person to register my 1599 with the .Net Registry so I doubt any owners have been on this forum.

So, to my question, is it appropriate to try and find the PO's of the car? Is it creepy to contact them out of the blue about their old car?

Plainfield, IL 60585-5054

From the Carfax it shows this town. Guy owned it from 2007-2010.

Billy, I wouldn't mind if a owner of a car I previously owned were to contact me for some history but then I maintain my cars properly. Some other owners may not be of like mind for various reasons. They can always decline the request I figure.

I called the original owner of my 90 #966. He called my wife at home, got my work # and called me there and we talked about the cars history including his 160mph drive down I-88; radar verified by Illinois finest.

Nice guy....oh and he was the CEO of one of the largest companies in the world, ITW.

Check out his yearly salary....(he retired a few years ago)

I sent a letter to the PO of my car. Good old fashioned snail mail. I figured it was the least intrusive and allowed him to contact me if he wished. He did.

Maybe I will try that, although that might even be creepier since I would have to find his address...

Just cruise slowly by his house every day, make sure to stop in front for a few seconds for the extra stalker factor
