While doing our final checks yesterday before I fired up the new motor, it was discovered that my throttle plates are not opening fully when I mashed down the accelerator pedal. Is there any kind of adjustment on the cable for a 90? The later cars have an ajustment up by the ASR, I didn't see anything on mine.

This may sound stupid but have you checked to make sure cable is fully seated in throttle cam? Guess why I know that?

Well, lets hope the car has gobs of power with the throttle only part way open. 'magine when it opens all the way!

You must have stretched the cable with all that pedal mashing!
Should be able to rig something at the pedal.

There is on a 95. I'm pretty sure the 91 has one too. Don't know about 90 but here goes: Trace cable and see if it has a block type section. If so, there will be a hard plastic plunger or release. Depress pedal all the way then depress the plunger. I'll look in svc manual.

Ted I don't believe the plunger adjustment on the throttle cable came out untill ASR. None on my 91 .. 93 has it.

Concur. No talk of adjustment in 90 svc manual. Just references no binding and seat correctly in pedal. There is however description for cruise.

Ted,
That's only on ZRs w ASR. 92-95. 90-91 are twin cables instead of 1.
