Any thought to buying bricks for the members lost this year? I think the price is $150-$175.

Lee,

I remember back in 2002 doing this for Doug Johnson at the NCM Gathering. I think its a great idea there was a nice brick unveiling, moment of silence, and good time of remembrance. We need to remember our members.

I would contribute as well. It would be a nice addition to the 25th anniversary events at BG this spring.

ZR-1.Net already took donations for Phil, I would be more than happy to donate to a brick for George and any other member that passed.
Heck with that small brick, we have 400+ members the 12"x12" brick is $1250.00 seeing as how we are the ZR-1 Net Registry I do not see why we cant get a better deal. That comes out to less than $3.00 a member.

Mabe we should buy a large brick each January and put the names of the forum members who passed the previous year. I am afraid that the C4 corvette followers are getting old and that brick will get more names on it as the years progress.

Just my 2 cents
Chris

Oh, and I'm in for helping with any size brick.

I'm in for whatever y'all decide. I'm sure that will be the only recognition I'll get when I depart.

The Key is to get the younger crowd enthused with the ZR-1, Right now the cars are reasonable priced so it is fairly easy. If the price of a C4 ZR-1 escalates above the price of a similar mileage C6 Z06 we can say goodbye to the younger generation and the inevitable demise of the ZR-1 Net Registry. Now I am not saying this will happen overnight but without new membership any organization is bound for failure.
Now this is just my opinion.

I think this is a great idea. Making it part of the dues seems like it would be the easiest thing to do. Separate fund raiser would be another.

All,

We’ve recently suffered the loss of three of our dear ZR-1 Net Registry members since October. With the passing of Phil DeJohn, we are grateful for the efforts of Dave “Mom” Bright to ensure Phil was remembered with a ZR-1 brick at the National Corvette Museum. With the passing of Tony Watson and George Braml within the last few weeks, the ZR-1 Net Registry will ensure that both members are appropriately remembered on behalf of the ZR-1 Net Registry family.

As such, we have created a venue for members to contribute for each of our departed. We have set up our web store to accept donations in increments of $5 in order for us to reach our goal of $150 for each ZR-1 memorial brick. Additionally, we’ve provided a link to both Tony and George’s obituary, which allows members to view the requests of the family and donate as they see fit.

The link to the “In Memoriam” section of our web store is: http://www.zr1netregistry.com/Marketplace/RegistryStore/tabid/235/rvdsfcatid/in-memoriam-36/Default.aspx
We as a community are very saddened by such a great loss, and very much appreciate your donation in support of these great friends and ZR-1 enthusiasts.

With heavy heart,
Mark

1) Mark, I am seeing the "In Memoriam" for George Brandi, but not for anyone else.

2) I got this notice when I was about to leave a donation for "George Brandi".
"George Braml Memorial Brick at the NCM - George Braml Memorial Brick at the NCM" is out of stock. "

Does this mean that all 3 dearly departed have a had a brick donated in their name?

Paul,

We've quickly reached our goal to purchase a brick for both Tony and George. The remaining $5 donation for George was made this morning. Once these donations reach their target, they are no longer visible in the store. That said, you can still contribute to per the family's wishes at:

For Tony:

For George:

Thank you very much for your support.

Nelson,

There have been a few good ideas brought up that the Board can consider. For now, we were quickly able to raise just what was required to purchase the bricks for Tony and George from the NCM, and everyone who contributed knows where their donations went.

Best Regards,
Mark

Thank you for the update Mark. And no problem, I find it important to honour those who are no longer with us, just like I do with old Army buddies.

Nothing but condolences and best wishes to the family and friends who are experiencing loss.
