Black top on non-Black car?

How many of you have a Black top on a car of a different color? (or even ANY non-matching colored top?)

Black doesn't clash, so it can't look too bad...

I agree it would look like the tinted top. Kevin I bought mine from American Hydrocarbon however its real hydrocarbon

I had no idea.. I know I was like the 2nd guy to buy one. Came with new seals and the process was done on a OEM top. I had mine done outright with their top as I wasnt about to ship my top to them. Very Happy with it.


Hmm Kevin Id email Pat I cant see anything in this thread that says hes not doing them any more. Ive had mine for a year now.

Why not try one of those nifty 3M wraps? They come in all colors and CF also. If you don't like it, pull it off.

plus it moves 5lbs down lower in the car and that means I can eat more deep fried goodness

If I could find a second transparent top I'd consider that, but then I'd have to deal with the extra flex...though I do have the frame stiffeners to instal.... it never ends

Chuck - I believe if I were considering a black top on another colored car I'd likely consider coloring the "halo", belt to belt and the CHMSL black also. There's a distinct seam at the base each side and I believe it would look very good. I actually considered this in '03 when mine was painted. The painter already had color on some of the parts when I mentioned it and one of the parts already colored was the top.
