Allright SO,...I have decided to keep the 68' and drop the clean LT5 and the ZF6 I have into it.....Question is I CANT find any info on ANYONE doing this except for the 61' we had with us at Carlisle(however his help would be great too!:).
I have already started the tear down of the 68' but I would like to pick the brain of anyone with experience...AND-OR pics and info of the build.

I have a friend who makes custom frames to do anything you want for Corvette's. Not cheap but he could set it up so you can even run C4/C5/C6 suspension and any engine trans set-up. If I remember right he has already done one for a C2/LT5. http://www.streetshopinc.com/
Here is a C2 with C4 that I helped my buddy John build.

That's a great "FRIEND"! There's a good bit of useful things they do that ZR-1 folks can use.
I might have suggested an SRIII only because I've been around I guess 6 installs, C1's and a mid-year but none done with an LT5. All that I've been around have been done with C4 front and D44 rears with an exception of one and the guy "cheaped" out and the rear is a D36.

Ted,I've got some photos of a yellow 80-82 w/LT5 on my home computer. I'll send or post them when Sherry and I get back to Texas. We're at our other house in NW Indiana, right now.
Halibrand is no longer in business,IIRC,but P.S.Engineering builds beautiful Halibrand Kidney Bean replicas. I had a set of those in 17X9 & 17X13 pindrive knockoffs on my pro touring 69 El Camino.

Dave:.....??..I got the whole message you posted...Then "Sorry"?....:dontknow:
UPDATE:
I am right at the point of pulling the body off the car and tearing the frame down.(the amount of rust on the floor was staggering...:censored:
The frame will need to be repaired in two locations and the birdgcage will need extensive repair.
I am torn between these two choices:
keeping the C3 frame and utilizing the upgraded suspension and coil overs....OR...having a frame made to utilize C4 suspension.
thoughts?
Also:...looking for a really good fiberglass/body guy...LET ME KNOW!!

If you have to go the custom frame route I would think about stepping up to C6 suspension. Do you know what transmission you will use? I'm sure you need to mod the tunnel area for the ZF6. I don't think you do with a Tremec but don't know if it will mate up to the LT5. Are you planing to tub the wheel wells to fit some larger tires?
You may want to call the link I posted and talk to Tray if you go the frame route for nothing else than get some idea of all this, He's is a great guy.

Are there any issues with the headlamp actuators and the wiper door operation? Do the door latches, handles and hardware all function as it should? A '68 Corvette is like anything else '68 with GM, very different and nearly every GM line in '68 was a one time build.

I apologize for the name screw-up,Dempsey. I think this is the C3 that has an LT5 installed. If this isn't it,it's very very similar and maybe one of our European members will remember the car. Unfortunately,it looks like I have deleted most of the photos that showed the engine compartment. I'll keep looking, though.
