Excellent! How much of a job was it to raise the roof?

I have a 2 post bendpak and love it. I think your 4 poster will serve you well.

Ceiling was a bit of work...but I'm certain I over-engineered it. (It's not going any where!)

Nice garage fillers. Is that a LT1 on top ?

Innovative solution! I have the same problem. Did you get pics of the changes you made above the ceiling (changes to the trusses)?

Looks good but my question too--do you have truss construction or standard rafters/joists? Mine is truss but fortunately I have just enough height to work (10'). But I looked at a friend's for a lift and he has 9' 6"--just short of enough. With trusses it is more of a precise engineering job. --Bob

Top car is a standard 72 coupe...sort of LT-1 cloned (hood, intake, valve covers) plus '69 side pipes.

I didn't take pictures of the joists/rafters...I just sistered up the joists that remain, bolted in some new cross-beams, ran 2x10s on the ends...should have taken pics, I suppose.

We did the same in one of the garages. Only we never keep another car underneath?

The primary reason for cutting the trusses was the have the ability to put the lift in that garage.

It's an awesome alternative to low ceilings.

Looks Great WB!

I've wanted to do that too but everybody I tell thinks I'm a fool. (I am but that's not the point.) I need about 1' to be able to lift my cars up so I can work on them without bending over. Did you use a header in the attic to support the weight or just a end header on the trusses?

Congrats! Your setup is very innovative! If you have concerns about the ZR-1 clearing the side supports, a piece of motorcycle tire works great! It saved me quite a few times!

Again, congrats!

Thanks, Mark. I went ahead and got the regular width HD-9. I'll keep the tires in mind if I find myself smacking the sides!
