These tires are mounted but show no signs of ever having been driven. They look new, have their whiskers, and no signs of cracking last time I looked. I believe that these would be correct for NCRS '89. We can re-verify dates and such if there is an interest out there.

I have seen 89 prototype gatorback tires and they had"not for resale" stamped on the sides. google it and it should come up.

I believe these tires were for the production '89 cars and as such were intended for sale. Attached is the mark on the back of the wheel to which one is mounted. George
