I think this goes off on Saturday. He's wanting $190k for it. It's pumped up to 440 HP and it is beautiful in person:

beautiful car. 190k is a bunch of money. could have bought a callaway speedster twin turbo lt5 for that.
Was the 440hp achieved with or without that air intake?

Yeah, that was my question too, with all those bends that intake looks a bit restrictive.

Marc only had the motor, never the car, pre intake #'s

Not only that with side pipes by the time the headers go into the collector its about 9-12 inches past the front of the pipes. He had to double back and bring the exhaust forward to make it go into the pipes. Super nice work but major back pressure point. If I go again I'll take a pic.

Correct, it does double back,(I think there are no mufflers) the car may not be efficient in some ways, but still VERY NICE, if 190 is the reserve, I doubt it will reach that, but get 2 bidders in the same room in a pissing match and watch out
Remember the days when it was "cool" to start cutting and install a single back glass?
There are many stories such as this.
Nice car, just doesnt do it for me. Except for the engine. But I appreciate the work that went into it. Even more if the owner did his own work. But whoever did it, did their job well.

Classy build. That intake bothers a lot of people visually, me too. Nice fab work, but I would have siamesed those pipes together before they got right up to the horn.
Really like that color. But high back seats in a 63'? Not for me.
A friend of mine built a Split Window with an LT5. Body and paint just as good as this one. I got a chance to drive it, and it was quite a thrill. He offered it for $30K about 5-6 years ago.
$190K? Dream on pal. No matter how cool, it's still a non-original Kustom Kar.
My opinion FWIW. That 63 must drive like an old school bus . Pull out that boat anchor and install a stock type S/B or even better L/S engine.

Yup, that would be the "sensible" approach. But, having what some people think is the most beautiful Corvette design of all time with the most beautiful Corvette engine of all time, together, is something they just have to do.
"Sensible" or not, you gotta love it. :-D

Any chance this was a C4 chassis conversion? I would agree w Frank in that the motor completely outstrips the capability of the chassis. Aesthetically however, a very pretty car.

I think it's a custom frame, with modern suspension front and rear. So it's probably very capable, hence the price.

135k is ok for that car. lots of custom work and it is super clean. people are paying that kind of money for shear junk so 135 is good.

Think they'll rip out the LT-5?

Think they'll rip out the LT-5?
If they do, they're nuts. Bill built that car properly, and it's spectacular. My guess is whoever bought it seriously appreciated the fact that it was powered by an LT-5.

I agree 100%. There were a ton of SW's there with varying degree's of 327 power for far less than $135k. The top notch custom work and uniqueness of the LT-5 set this one apart. You really need to see this car to believe it. The paint was perfect. Interior; perfect. The right wheels (size AND looks). Just a wonderful car.
