Idle - It idles between 1.3k and 3k... Hunts pretty bad. I've replaced the IAC after finding the threads stripped, cleaned it all up in the TB also, no change. I've sprayed Carb cleaner around the vacuum hoses, no increase in Idle.
Tach - Is it possible for the LT5 to go 8k RPM? Damn thing feels like it's pulling hard still. Anyone have tach error issues?
The other issues are the service FX3 and a bad TPS... I'll check the codes for the FX3 and replace the bad TPS.

it's possible for the lt5 to go to 8k but you're going to need to have the rev limiter removed.

Going to have to install a temporary tach to make sure. I don't want to spin over 7. But it does seem to be pulling still
IIRC the stock rev limiter is set of 7200rpm. If its still pulling then you havent hit it then. If GM thought that engine damage would result, they would have set the limiter lower than 7200rpm.

Ok... 7K RPM in 1st gear with stock gearing what should the RPM be?

I think you are asking mph in first gear.
First gear - 2.68
Differential - 3.45
Tires - 315x17x35
57.82 mph at 7,000 engine rpm in first gear depending a bit on tire loaded radius (315x17x35 tires).

Awesome... Guess I'll have to drive the car first thing tomorrow... Darn...
My wife is already getting sick of me taking one of our 2 girls in the Vette and her having to take the Diesel or Magnum... LOL
I wish I'd known how cool it was to own and drive a vette... I would have picked up the 89 DRM 383 for 8k 5 years ago!

Better than any of my SRT10's, the SRT8... 9 second stang... anything! I'm thinking about selling the LS Juan Camaro and buying a LT1 Vette as my Oilfield car...
The car since 02 has had 8k miles put on it, in 4 days I've managed 600 miles!
LOVE!
Most stock techs are off.
If you have stock chip/program in it, then just keep your foot in it till you hit rev limiter which is set at 7170.

Lol, I have no idea what's in this car... To me it is quick, but not as quick as the magnum.. I think I is stock with Borla exhaust. I will be with removing the resonator and adding an x pipe... I think

Sorry but doesn't your ZR have the wrong rear end cap on it?

Care of Marc Haibeck:

I believe if it is hunting like that, then one can assume the IAC is working; as the name implies, Idle Air Control: wouldn't "hunt" if it wasn't actively varying idle air flow - a scanner would be ever so handy here.
However, the Throttle Position Sensor comes to mind. As it happens, just a few days ago I had removed the TPS connector temporarily as part of another project, and forgot to reconnect it before I fired it up. Same symptoms you describe - I think? When I fired it, the idle speed took off, settling at closer to 2100 rpm and it began to hunt a little. So, you admit your TPS is "bad", then that would be the place to start eliminating troubles, methinks.

I suspect the car in the picture is the car he wished he'd picked up 5 years ago.
I think I like the side pipes.

If you got a TPS CIRCUIT DTC, then maybe before buying a new TPS, plug in a multimeter with backprobes (paper clips) in the TPS harness connector, to test voltage.

Then if range of voltage with IGnition ON, motor off, is not correct, check resistance of the TPS itself.

Tried deleting this after I realized it was pic of the 383 BigIke was describing.
