Took the Z to a local charity car show, and it got a lot of attention and lots of questions from folks. And, it won the "best engine" prize.

I overheard one of the judges tell another judge (possibly his wife), that the LT5 must have been a transplant from another car, as he scribbled on his score sheet. :sign10:

Ah, well... I would have thought the new paint and immaculate (new) interior would have counted for something, but I guess not. [-X LOL.

But this shouldn't be hard...an LT5 was awarded "Best Engine"? It's like saying that Ronald Reagan was the best President. DUH!!!! All the smart people KNOW any LT5 IS the best engine!!=D>

Very true. And, at one of the really big charity shows, where there is as many as 1000 cars (the monthly Morris, IL showa) it is the young ricer guns that will take notice and pictures and ask questions, if nobody else. Who woulda thunk that??

Happen alot even some Corvette owners ask how did you get that motor? what did it come out of? was it hard to fit in the C4? or why did you put C6 ZR-1 emblems on it?

Nuttin special, by contemporary standards... Just new paint (5 years old now) and inherent beauty!

Indeed. I always tell people that this was the last engine made that was designed to be looked at--none of those cheap plastic covers for us!!--Bob
