Hi All - Does anybody have a source for replacement covers for the speakers mounted at floor level below the kickpanels in each footwell? They are a sorta carpet-covered plastic enclosure for the speakers (whoever designed this mounting I hope works for Toyota now!). Thanks for any leads. Bestregards, Ted Wright

I thought Corvette America was selling them at one point
What color and year? (the design changed around 1994 I think)

Speaking of Mid America and carpeting for speakers, I bought a complete carpet set from them - must be 3-4 years ago. It is good quality, BUT the speaker covers were NOT included.
I called them and learned "...we don't send those speaker covers as part of the carpet set". HOWEVER, they did send me some speaker carpeting at no charge. (The speaker carpet does NOT have the heavy backing on it like the floor carpet has - thus less sound deadening is the idea.)
From that, if buying a carpet set from them, you might want to ask them if they include those special speaker carpet pieces in the order. Just sayin...

Hey Paul - Thanks for the tip. I got the carpeting from Corvette Central in 2004(!). Not installed yet. doubt they'd be interested in "giving" me the covers at this late date. Congrats on your deal, tho. Best regards, Ted Wright

Hey Jeff - Saddle. BTW, how are you liking the 4.10s? I got 'em, but haven't been able to run the road yet. Still working on the crankshaft leak in the '93 crate engine. Best regards, Ted Wright

Ten years (and counting) between the purchase and install? That's gotta be a record. I don't feel so bad about my lingering projects now.

Jeff - Thanks for the feedback on the rear gears. Glad to hear you like the 4.10s. I went with them because I wanted more low speed grunt, and the higher gears were tooo long-legged - had to shift to THIRD at road speeds to execute a "brisk" pass.
David - As one of the mechanics at work used to say " Sure, some of the other mechanics do more work and higher quality than me, but they do it quicker." BTW, "FBI Lyposuction" sounds like torture to me! Also, I've noticed in several posts "Secondaries relieved of duty". Can you steer me to a description of what this entails and the bennies accrued. THANKS!
Best regards, Ted Wright
