I have already posted this in the Parts section, but thought I can get more responses by posting here also, so excuse the double post......
After reading articles about the "chain rattle" I see that the upgrade part for the Birmal Heads is no longer available, part #12550580 Tensioner, Timing Chain R/H (Updated) 1990 - 1995 Model
Does anyone know where one might be, have contacted some vendors, but no luck as of yet. Thanks for any info......................Tom

Ok. What I have is the Tensioner Housing. I don't have a part number however.
Its a NOS part and I can't tell you whether its a right or left hand housing.
EDIT: Looking at Jerry's catalog, the oil lube hole is in front not on the side, so this is a RH Tensioner Housing.

I dont believe that is the part I am looking for. This was an updated kit with an improved tensioner holder, as shown below.
Thank you for checking, it is appreciated.

Clint, the part Dom has appears not to be the correct part, if you check the link in the previous post, that is the kit for the part # listed (12550580).
So if you can let your friend know that I am very interested, however you want to contact him and get back to me, or send me a PM with his contact info, whatever works best, just let me know. That is the kit I want.
Thanks again..........:-D Tom

CHAIN TENSIONERS AND GUIDES
Updated chain tensioner RH (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12599)
New style chain tensioner (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?p=105663)
RH Chain Tensioner housing (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?p=106512)
Upgraded chain tensioner housing impressions (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14275)
Upgraded LH chain tensioner housing (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?p=111472)
It will appear in Craig's photos that the two aluminum pieces do NOT fit together.....but in fact they do...one piece is just farther away from the camera ;)
So everyone already knows that I'm "Mr. While I'm in there". Nothing wrong with my right side tensioner but figured I would buy the updated version even though I have a brand new one. I could see that the new part number comes with two piece aluminum housing so I spent the bucks and got one before dropping this fresh built 350 LT5 back in.

Thank you once again Clint, as the purchase is completed with John. I will now have my kit probably sometime next week.
Now to figure out if I need to get anything else and what my comfort level will be on doing the job myself. Need to do more research and reading on the subject..........................................: dancing
