Thank god I found this site a few weeks ago. I decided that the secondary vac system had to go so I ordered gaskets from jerry. Removed all vac junk under the plenum, pinned the secondaries open, replaced all nec vac lines, and installed chip from Haibeck. Started the car and it started up and fell down to idle and died. Check engine light is on now and car will idle sometimes but has a hesitation at idle. What should I check???? Again NO emissions/secondary junk is on the car but did leave everything connected electrically wise.
Only modifications are headers, full exhaust, no emissions and now Haibeck chip.
I did start the car without the map sensor plugged in had an oops moment wasn't sure if that has caused some code I need to dump or not
Any of you zr experts imput would be appreciated

Welcome my brother.....
A couple of things come to mind to make sure are done.
1. Ensure electrical connector to vacuum solenoid is still connected under plenum. Vacuum lines do not but electrical connector does.
2. Ensure map sensor under ECM stilll has a vacuum source and electrical connection in tack. Might be 1990 year only.
3. Power Key must remain ON the power mode at all times.
Hope this helps.

All that checks out except for the sensor under the ecm. I thought it was suppose to be left without a vacuum line but if it needs one Ill surely put it on.

Mine is exposed to the air - no vacuum line, per Marc. I pulled everything out on mine; throttle plates and all. And, I believe that included the vacuum solenoid as well, as I remember tying off an electrical connector (but I don't see how leaving it connected would be an issue, btw).

That is what I thought and plugged mine and I had issues. Just try it and see if it works.
I gather you chip is not done,
What ever the case put a vacuum hose
from vacuum pump to MAP sensor
Under ECM if you just connect to a
Vacuum source at the engine will
Not work at WOT and have the
Sensor under plenum connected
