I dropped the ZR-1 off at Marc Haibeck’s in April. I hoped that 10 weeks was enough time to get it done, but it wasn’t. Bloomington Gold is the only major event my wife and I attend because of other commitments. I was looking forward to this one as my BIL has a “new” C4 and we had planned this for some time.
I’ve been looking into “renting”(borrowing, etc) a Vette for the Saturday night drive at Bloomington Gold.
Here’s what I’ve tried
+ the major rental companies (Hertz, Budget, etc) that do rent Vettes. But there’s nothing in the Chicagoland area. You have to go to LAX or MIA to rent Vettes it seems.
+ local Champaign, IL car dealers. I called 5 dealers that had used Vettes on the lot asking if they’d be willing to rent me one for Saturday evening. Answer: no.
+ car dealers near me. I called several but nobody is willing to rent me a Vette for the drive down and back.
+ the “exotic rental” places. These are too pricey for me.
+ RelayRides. This kinda scares me though … nothing really nearby.
+ Buy one. (Not going to happen)
So … does anyone have a suggestion or idea that I haven't thought of?
I’d really love to go on the drive since we haven’t missed this in years.
TIA,
Gary
