What was the deal with the plenum pull? I saw an alternator, Marc and the gang, and extra gaskets...

David's alternator went south and several assisted with the repair during the BBQ ... all is well now.

The Brotherhood strikes again!

On my way in from Dallas I noticed some quirky goings on that led me to believe I was having some alternator problems. I kept thinking, "If I can only make it to BG I'll be golden!" I'd rather break down there than in my own driveway! (Even the 2 Kentucky State Troopers that pulled me over were sympathetic to my plight!). I mentioned to David Johnson that I thought I was having alternator issues and after finding out that Robert brought an alternator with him and with the help of Mark Horner we formulated a plan to use one of the service bays at NCM to do the swap the next day. Well, meetings and seminars ran long and we ended up running out of time which led to Robert stepping up and doing the work in the hotel parking lot.

Many thanks to all who helped get The Blue Beast back up and searching for traction. From Marc Haibeck offering his diagnostic knowledge, Mark Horner lining out the service bay(even though we ended up not getting to use it) and DJ's gasket set and tools to Paul Workman's tools, Demp's help in trying to get on a belt that was ultimately the wrong size and multiple people holding flashlights and bringing us beer, we finally got her done.

But special thanks to Robert for spending 4 hours of his time to not only do the work but taking the time to show me how to do it.

You all are the greatest. And more importantly...we still got to drink some beer!

Great Pic... Just got home, I want to thank everyone involved for an absolutely great time, Got to see some owners I have not seen in years and meet many I have only know thru posts.

I guarantee I will never miss another BG, In 35+ years of messing with Corvettes This group is by far the best. To lots of what I hope to be life long friendships.

I also got up close with some of the most outstanding ZR-1's I have ever laid eyes on........

I also just got home from the Gathering and would like to thank all of the people who make this happen. I know it takes a lot of work from many people and you all need a big congratulation. I had a great time.

There were several informative seminars.

It was my first time attending and I can't wait until next year.

Great people, cars, food and beer.

I met some crazy charters, especially two from Georiga. You know who you are.

Thanks again.

The gathering this year was the best one I've attended so far, BY FAR! Personally, I needed a boost, and I feel my batteries were fully recharged. Can't thank those that really did the yeoman's work to put it together; Mark, Ron, David J, Robert, Brett, Amy, the presentations...ALL just superb!

AND! One of the most spectacular pieces of the entire gathering, for those that could make the Mountain Run 2, THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED NEXT YEAR, especially if you've never done "It". George and Robert coordinated 3 days of the most thrilling, beautiful trips imaginable for Corvette (or ANY venue) enthusiasts! Folks, I gotta tell ya, it was like 3 days in the best amusement park, with the best group of friends you could imagine!! I really have a much deeper appreciation for the ZR-1 and all the engineering that went into its development. It is truly a fantastic car, and unless you've let it "all hang out", you're missing a great deal of what this car REALLY has to offer!!

Thanks again, and a special thanks to George for ferreting out the Mountain routes, and the photos, and for your hospitality!! Of lifetime memories - this one was a "KEEPER"!

Paul.

Many thanks to George (Gunny) Jones for being our photo master. I know many who could not attend rely on George posting photos so that they could at least feel like they were there. Thanks Gunny

Great pictures, George, of a great event! Thank you ever so much for the memories. This is the second time I've attended a gathering and, other than the rather dismal weather, it was exceptional in every way. My godson Clint and I thank everyone who worked so hard to make this event so fantastic, and we look forward to next year and more of the same.

What a fantastic time!!! Thanks to everyone who made this exceptional.....
Gunny, Ted, Todd, Marc, Dominic, Hutch, Ed, Joe and all our Board members (and spouses!)... Even more exceptional is the enthusiasm of the "Dave McLellan Gang" who spent so much of their time investing their undocumented stories with us. I learned so much from Dave McLellan, Ralph Kramer, Gib HufStader, and Gordon Killebrew, that the day and a half drive from Texas was more than worth the trip. Add to this the comraderie of the ZR-1 Net Registry, and this was the best time! I echo Paul's comments that this was fantastic, and for many of us was the recharge we needed! I for one, hated to pull out of the parking lot Sunday morning and leave behind all my friends.....

Not only do I think next year will be even better, but I'm already pumped up for Carlisle!!! While distinctly different events, they are both outstanding opportunities to catch up with old friends and recharge!

Again, thanks to everyone who made this a fantastic time!

Regards,
Mark
