Just returned from three-days at the Ron Fellows Spring Mountain Performance School where they use the C7 and C6 ZR1 for the track sessions (of which there are a lot). If anyone is looking to hone their track skills or shake off the rust, I highly recommend them (I have no affiliation with this entity). Interestingly, the NCM short circuit will bear a strong resemblance to Spring Mountain's 2.2 mile track which is a consideration for those planning to run at NCM - lessons learned would definitely be transferable.

By the way, I can't say enough about the C7 having pounded it for three days. I will be definitely going back to Nevada when the school gets the Z06 in the fall.

Thanks for posting up!!!

I'm looking forward to the NCM finishing their course and hopefully we will have it by our Anniversary next year... Hint Hint!

Did you drive both the new ZR1 and C7?

Just got to do the C7 this time, Dave. A couple of the instructors were able to turn better lap times (slightly) with the C7 than the ZR1. With rev matching and the most aggressive selections in track mode, the C7 is quite the track car.

I was at Spring Mountain 4 years ago and had a great time.

Was it an option to drive the C6 ZR1? Back then, only ZR1 owners were allowed to drive the ZR1 (the school was a perq for new ZR1 owners).

Not sure. Four of the guys in my three-day Level 1 session that requested and used ZR1s are indeed ZR1 owners. They had them for a couple of years, so I don't think it was part of their GM buyers' packages. In addition to the levels 1,2 and 3, there is a "ZR1" option which one may be able to book regardless of whether you own one or not.

That said, the C7 is one hell of a track car in it's own right! After sleeping on this for five days now, I am stopping by my local dealer on the way home this evening - not sure where it will lead....
