The 275 Goodyears are still on "nationwide allocation" and GY doesn't seem to want to produce them. Seems peculiar to me, since most C4s could wear that size all around, but I digress. Anybody had any luck finding them?

The GS D3 fronts always till now? how been available, the rears were the problem being produced now & then, great tire, make sure whatever you buy to check date codes, keep em fresh, Nittos look good

Last pair I picked up I drove up to Cordes Junction to pickup that a guy lugged over from CA

Did you ask Discount to find you a pair? Took em a few days put they found a pair. The rears no joy

I have a nice set on my car now that were manufactured in 2009. They have around 2k miles on them. They will be removed and stored very soon for future NCRS events only.

Just bought a new set of nitto's and very anxious to see how much differentlt the car rides.:)

IMHO the GY tires provide a harsh ride on a Corvette. I always use to put BFG tires as they provide a softer ride. This time I couldn't find a size correct set of BFG's so I decided to try the nitto's.

David swears by the Pilot Sports.. To date Ive tried

Falkins (fronts only however incrediable tread wear rating)
GY F1 D3s GS
BFGs
Sumitomos (crap)

So far the best by far has been the GYs. After this set prob Nitto's. HTF a good 315 Tire.

My Pilot Sports have been great. I have nothing to compare them to. Very sticky, I have a hard time breaking them loose.

I know, I totally trust David and he loves his Michelins. They are just SOOO expensive, though.

Yeah, Tire Rack has the rears but not the fronts. I've been wanting some ever since the first time I saw my car next to yours; they're the same section width, but your F1s APPEAR so much wider than my Sumis.

I would only consider GY or Nitto, The nitto drag set up would be better traction but the GY gets me a higher speed rating needed for mile & 1.5 mile shoot outs, you always needed to be in the right place & time to get GY rears, now maybe that is true for fronts

I want to go with the PSS when I get new rubber but the widest they come in for an 18" size is 285....If I stay with Michelins it will have to be the PS2's. Might be a trend with the wider rubber only coming in 19" or higher. Even Michelins new Pilot Sport AS/3 only goes up to a 285 in 18".

I appreciate everyones' input but I really wasn't looking for tire reviews. So, Please allow me to rephrase the question: does anyone either have or know where to get a new pair of either 275/40-17 or 285/40-17 Eagle F1 GS-D3s?

Summit has them listed on Ebay. 2 available. Suggest you get down on it.

Thanks Daryll! Sho nuff, they have 2, but they're asking over $110 more apiece than Tire Rack wants for front Michelins. Their price is actually $65 over MSRP!! Clearly, they know they have something rare. I do want them but I'm not willing to go that far. Thanks again for taking the time to look for me.

I did hear back from GY yesterday and they said only that they do not have a "firm production date" for the GS-D3s. They're still refusing to say "discontinued" which I guess is good news.

The eBay price might not be the actual summit price. Usually prices on eBay are higher to account for the listing fees and final auction value fee. So maybe a call to summit directly and the tires might be cheaper. Just a thought.

Good thought. I checked Summit's website and you're right, they're listing them on there for $43 less...still crazy but a little better. Interesting thing is that on their website, they're quoting a ship date 3 weeks out and when you begin checkout, it tells you that this product "ships direct from manufacturer". I guess their eBay listing needs to be updated, as I don't think they really have 2 in stock.

Just heard back from Goodyear. According to the "brand manager", they are planning on putting F1 GS-D3s back into production in "late summer or early fall."

Agreed. But even if they were actually there, I wouldn't be willing to pay that much for them anyway.

Killshots did you see Gofast's add in general(for sale) section of website.
He has a set slightly used (90% tread) for sale.Maybe cheap by comparison to waiting for new in fall.

Thanks Gary! Yes, I did see that post a couple days ago. Only issue is those are GS-Cs, so they're going to be quite a bit older. Sent him a PM for more info, though.

I only have some old fronts and I haven't looked at them in about 2 years so they are probably no good. Been in the barn.

Thanks Johhny! I definitely don't want questionable tires, especially on the front, but if you happen to take a look and they are really nice, I'm definitely interested.

Hey Jim,

Yes, you can get them, but I really want those GS-D3 steamrollers in back and I'd like to have a matching set. Probably going to have to do GS-D3 in back and F1 Asymmetric in front, closest I can get right now.

Thanks!
