Once in awhile when turning at slow speed I will get a "pop" from I believe the right front. Not always and usually will just do it once. I have checked front end for loose stuff - and car was just State Safety Inspected, and checked over by my local shop since I still have a vibration - with nothing loose found. Any ideas? (I would assume nothing has ever been changed with 19k miles)

Ball joint or tie rod end time.
Pretty easy stuff.

Are those parts ZR-1 specific - or regular C4? Part #'s?

Ball joints and tie-rod ends are C4 - not Z specific. (I just ordered a MOOG ball joint for my Z. Kinda pricy, compared to the OEM stuff, but I don't figure to have to do it again either.;)

I just did all four corners w new Moog tie rods. Rock Auto is a great source.
$37 each.

Very cool! Will look into that later this year when my funds build back up. Nothing is loose so Its probably safe. I buy quite a bit of stuff from Rock Auto anyway - so thanks for the link!

While it is true that worn bushings, ball joints or tie rod ends can cause "pop" or "creaking" noises when driving at slow speeds and the steering is at or near full lock, you, also, need to look past those problems.
1) Make sure the bolts holding the two supports that run between the frame and the front crossmember are tightened to specification.
2) Make sure the bolts holding the two supports which run from the hood latch mounts down to the frame rails are tight.
3) Make sure the steering rack mounts are tight.
4) Make sure the control arm shaft mounting bolts are tight.

Thanks Hib! Never thought of that for sure. Will check bolts soon...
