Well, as someone who just recently renewed his ZR1 ownership after a hiatus of 7 years, I'm very frustrated by GM!

When I last my had ZR1, in 2007 (and earlier), a web search of Corvette ZR1 or ZR-1 would give all the right results, cool videos, parts and so on!

But now, in 2014, because of that pesky new C6 ZR1 (who'd want one of those... :p), all the results are much more mixed up!

LOL GM, thanks for making my ZR-1 ownership that little bit more frustrating. Next time, call it the ZR2, it'll help everyone!!

<silly friday rant over>

No not ZR2, then you'll wind up with a bunch of results dealing with the 90's 4wd S10 pickup trucks.

Same goes for the GEN 1 LT-1, GEN 2 92-97 LT1 and now the 2014+ GEN 5 LT1.

Those dang RPO codes.

Wouldn't our cars be technically ZR-2's and C6's ZR-3's? I have found I have to search for C4 ZR1 to get good results.

Welcome back. Maybe we could find a way to link up all the old adds and vids here. Just a thought.

Welcome back.
There are ways of getting what you want out of searches.
You can use boolean operators to eliminate results you don't
want (in this case ZR1).

A search with a "-" before a term says not
to show results with that term in it.

For instance try this:

"LT5" "ZR-1" -ZR1

It finds only stuff with BOTH "LT5" and "ZR-1" in it
but NOT ZR1.
Pretty cool huh? :blahblah:

If they followed alphanumerically yes, it would be.

The 1990-1995 LT5 powered cars are C4 Corvettes, 2nd Generation ZR-1's.
The LS9 powered cars are C6 Corvettes, 3rd Generation ZR1's with the GEN 4 SBC engine.

IMO There is only 1 King of the Hill. Such an impressive Heart in that Beast, the body isn't too hard to look at either.

No mention of the ZR-1 narrow body big block convertible.

Are you referring to "Big Doggie"? A marine BBC with an L98 calibration in the ECM. That story is classic. Stuff in the BBC, wire it up and then go do burnouts for hours.
While the BBC rivalled the LT5, it would have gotten the gas guzzler tax.

Originally in an 86 and later placed into an 89 with a 6 speed IIRC. That car sold a few years ago. The good old ZR2 BBC. Loved that car and the story.

It appears to have a different offset on the wheels from front to back.
