I probably should have searched first but I keep browsing this forum and not posting enough since I bought my Z so I thought I'd just make a thread :) I'll put pics up throughout the process so hopefully it wont be another question and dead thread.

Im wondering what parts I may need? I dont want to have it all apart and then have to wait for something because being up in canada sucks having to order everything from the u.s. and waiting etc.

Im thinking things like:
Plenum gaskets
I/H gaskets
CPU thermal paste for the part under the plenum ( sorry need to re-read the diy and refresh my memory lol)

Im sending the Plenum and I/H out for porting and possibly pulling the valve covers and having everything powdercoated too. Nice weather came so fast now Im upset I waited so long to pull it. Going to be a long wait !!

Im excited though ! After the porting and retune I should be ok to dissapoint any c7 I find on the freeways :dancing

Better be a good running stroker, the new C7 is FAST.

Yeah, the stock C7 is a underrated 500HP car from the factory. I'll have my top end done in a couple of Weeks. If I run across a stock.C7 I will let everyone know.

If you will tell me what all you anticipate doing, I can make a list of parts you will need.

much appreciated ! just got home will look up the diy now and give it a read.
Looking to send the plenum and injector housing out for porting. Possibly injectors out for cleaning while I wait (was going to ask you guys thoughts on cleaning/flowing them?) and eliminating the secondaries. Pretty much it I think !!

I believe Dynomite has a detailed write up on the plenum pull.

The 10 Minute Plenum Removal TIPS (http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?p=176510)

Thoughts on eliminating the secondaries. Pretty much it I think !!

You are just getting started :D
When you are under the Plenum.....recondition the Starter Contacts, Clear the Valley Drain, and isolate any vacuum leaks as a minimum.

See Item #1 LT5 Eliminated Systems (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-zr-1-discussion/2942569-tech-info-lt5-eliminated-systems.html)
Marc Haibeck on LT5 Eliminated Secondaries (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-zr-1-discussion/2942569-tech-info-lt5-eliminated-systems.html#post1579114178)

I have three ZR1s and a 1990 (L98).....

1991 ZR-1 BAD Z
TB Coolant Blocked at Injector Housing

1990 ZR-1 UL LOSE

Just put the PN in the search window to go to each part listed below.
http://jerrysgaskets.com/store2/root/

GASKETS
# 10168684-X Plenum Gasket Set, Thick 3/64"
# 10225120 Injector Housing Gasket Set
# 10168677 Coolant Outlet Pipes Gasket Set (Removed when porting)
# 17112267 Throttle Body Gasket Set (Removed when porting)

SEALS, Option 1. If you are flow testing & re-using your injectors, I recommend replacing all of the injector o-ring seals with new, Viton. The original O-rings are now over 20yrs old & have taken a "set" from being compressed. In addition, ethanol blended fuels are now the norm, as opposed to 100% gasoline. Viton is better suited for ethanol than Buna-N.

# 17112222-24V Fuel Injector Seal Set (24)-Viton (upper, all 16 inj, lower sec injectors (8)
# 10067600-V Fuel injector Seal Set-Viton (lower primary injectors, located inside the injector housings (8)
# 14104675-V Fuel Feed & Return Block Seal Set (2), Viton
# 14104675-9V Fuel Pipes to Rails & Regulator Seal Set (9)-Viton

SEALS, Option 2. If you are buying new injectors from FIC, they will come with the upper 16 and lower secondary seals (#17112222-V O-rings (24), so you will only need the following.

# 10067600-V Fuel injector Seal Set-Viton (lower primary injectors, located inside the injector housings (8)
# 14104675-V Fuel Feed & Return Block Seal Set (2), Viton
# 14104675-9V Fuel Pipes to Rails & Regulator Seal Set (9)-Viton

Additional
Should you decide to due a full engine valley clean-up, I would recommend removal of the Crankcase PCV Cover, to replace the gasket, clean oil from tapped bolt holes & bolts and re-install with Loctite 243. I also recommend using Loctite 243 in the injector housing bolts.

# 10168682 Cylinder Case PCV Vent Cover Gasket
# LOC1329837 Loctite 243

If you decide to pull the Cam Covers;
# 10067538 Cyl head Cam Cover/Cyl Head Spark Plug Well Seal Set (8)
# 10135851 Cam Cover Bolt Seal Set (48)
# PB A136 Permabond A136 Cam Cover Sealant

Optional:
# 10000083-SS Top Side Stainless Steel Bolt Set (85 bolts)

I havent read the DIY thread but all that have done it have our own little tricks for making it easier.First, take alot of pictures and get Marc Haibecks UNDER PLENUM SYSTEMS CHECK dvd, this will allow you to energize the system and check the operation of the secondaries if you decide to keep them. The biggest hassle is plugging in the spark controller without bending any of the pins.
