View Full Version : Pollen
I love spring, but this is just ridiculous. I need a bigger garage.

At least you can get some soap & water and clean it up. We're in a Stage Five drought emergency situation and I can't wash anything in my yard or driveway.
Our car washes are only open part-time.

It's made worse when you develop an allergy to pine pollen and you live in a neighborhood with many of them. After 25yrs of it I moved to where there's only a few spruce trees and other deciduous trees.
Don't miss it ! ;)

If there's any Pine Sap on it, be careful cleaning. Sticky sap can hold some nasty abrasive particulates, and make a mess of the paint.
Spring '09 was incredible here. I remember one WINDY morning, looking out the window, and it was like scads of THICK Yellow smoke. Never seen it like that before...

I'm been dreading this with my black Vette. Guess i'll need to do a quick rinse everyday.

That's why mine mostly stays in the garage with a car cover on it. We had a bad winter - so no pollen yet. It gets so bad here that when it rains at work the water runs yellow and leaves yellow water marks. I work out on hundreds of acres of concrete (airport ramp) and you can see the stuff on it when it gets bad. Thank God for Cetirizine allergy meds....
My son washed his car yesterday afternoon and he hosed off the Z while he was at it. Just sheets of yellow running down the driveway, and we're just getting started. The worst is probably still 3-4 weeks away. Unfortunately the garage is full and the Z sleeps outside, so it just means washing more often. Georgia was in a drought for several years, but thankfully that's over.
Just watched my wife drive out with fricken roostertails of yellow dust from all four wheels. Pollen count is over 4000 today, and a thick layer of the stuff on everything.
