OK guys Mountain Run 2 and Bowling Green are history!
Great memories many of us will never forget are filed away
for future reminiscing. If ya didn't make it this year, you owe it
to yourself to make it next year!
Now it's time for the next ZR-1 North East Group (BONE) GTG!!!
Saturday June 14, tour of the Callaway facility in Old Lyme CT and
of course lunch at a nearby eatery/pub. The tour is at 10am sharp
with a short ride and lunch to follow. The tour will also be attended by
Big John's and my local club "For Corvettes Only" (the fine folks that
bring you "Vettes in the Village" in Mystic CT, October 5th this year, be there...).
A firm RSVP to me is required by June 7th (so Callaway will know how many
to expect and maybe how many C7 Callaways to prepare for goody bag give aways:dancing)
OK to bring a friend, rain or shine
Meet at Old Lyme CT, Rt95 exit 71 commuter parking lot at 0930 sharp!
It's a short ride to Callaway's

I'm in! I have the CR1 on the road, I still need to road test it more before driving it that far but I'm hoping to have it down there. If not, we'll take my Dad's C7.

I'm going to pick my brother up in Salem NH, into Worcester, and down 395.
EVILTWINS

looks like you would take 93 to 495 to 290....
I could meet you at the intersection of 495 and rt 117 in Bolton MA and jump back on 495 and continue on to 290. Old Lyme is about 1 1/2 hours from Bolton
Bolton MA rt 117 exit is about 40 min from Salem
Your call if u want to caravan. figure I'd have to meet u at Bolton about 7AM to make the 930 connection on rt 95 exit 71

Pete, I'll be on 93 at exit 3 in Salem about 7:15. If you're coming down 93.

Steve
Living in the south western part over by Keene I would normally have gone down 202 to 140S to rt 2 to 140S to 190 to 290 to 395 to 95
I looked for a close place we could hook up if I went the route above. FROM 190 I was going to detour to 117 over to 495 (about 20 min detour) . Figuring that was the route u would take to Old Lyme. Going to Salem from Dublin adds another 1+ hours to my trip. I'm guessing taking my original route I would have to leave the house at 645 to make the 930 hook up. Going to Salem would mean leaving much earlier. If you still want to try and hook up at the 495/117 exit let me know else I'll meet u down there - are u driving your ZR-1?? Thinking of Just taking my VW Diesel 52mpg

Is there a good location where we could hook up on 295 or 395 in the Worcester area
Been out of the state a number of years

The Auburn Mall is just off 290 and right before 395. We could meet in the Sears parking lot near the automotive center.

No, and my brother is riding shotgun with me 'cause I wouldn't let him bring his MMMMMustang. And he didn't ask the girlfriend for the C7.

Great turnout!
28 people showed up for the tour
with over half ZR-1 folks and friends! The remainder
was from from our local club "For Corvettes Only".
There's some overlap there, 3 FCO members are
ZR-1 owners and part of the "Brotherhood"! Others from New York, New
Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maryland and Massachusetts also attended!
Thanks to Mike Vendetto of Callaway for the great tour
and to Big John for setting it up!
They've got some pretty impressive stuff to show off there
and some neat stuff just laying around. We had to keep a watchful
eye on DJ (who made the trip up from Maryland!), some of the stuff
might have fit under his t-shirt... :dancing (perhaps that LT5 that's
been on the storage shelf for years?)
There also was a couple new Z28s there waiting for the
treatment too... talk about making a neat ride even better!
Callaway has some big plans for the C7 too!

The callaway tour was impressive... Nice old school
cars there and new C7's as well!
Special thanks to Big John and Doug for putting this together!
Look forward to a BBQ / Special event next year!!
