Like horsepower; get some more - not long before it's not enough. Money - you start hittin' it big, you need more. .30Carbines (or just guns in general) - get your 6th - you start lookin' for another one.

Those 'bugs' are expensive, and time-consuming. And there's NO cure.

Wise old sage OUT!

Looks good there Steve http://www.zr1.net/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif Maybe Black out the lug nuts too. Where'd you find OEM 5-spokes? And Center caps too? I could only find repro's...

Black on the corners is good!

And Black on the corners, and from corner-to-corner is better (unless it's just an LT1  )

All oem the ones on wife's LT1 are off GS convertible 9.5 rear 8.5 front. I had and extra set of 9.5s I will use on the front of the ZR-1 and just found 2 oem rears I will have refinished in black to match.

You might want to consider having all four done rather than just the rears. I don't know of any other way to end up with a "match". Some want to do all four anyway so that they can make the flanges match when they do them.

Is the flange TOTALLY Black on GS's? Some repro's have 'deep dish', with a 3" deep flange, polished. HIDEOUS, IMO...

http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mLf1-Kk4e_y6141kAyA4EZA.jpg

Anyway, is GS the only one with Black 5-spokes? Could Base models and Z's be ordered with them? Were they even available before '96?

Steve - did you consider Yellow paint on the calipers? If your pads are lo-dust, that would be pretty sharp, to not worry about keeping them bright...

The wheel in my pic is a GM GS front. And the GS was the only car to come with Black 5 spokes, That is why I will have to have the rears re finished as the GS 17x11s have a 50mm offset vs the 36mm on our cars.

Yes I considered yellow and red on the calipers I just like black best. If I can ever find another set of GS calipers (the ones that say Corvette) I will change them.

I run standard semi-metallic pads, if it dusts the brakes are working!

I'll put you up for a week @ Emerald Isle NC, + grub, + a couple of icy lagers, and you can show me how to install my OBX's . Might even be able to throw in ammo; bring your 'Black' hardware.

Fletch [fletchusmc] said he probably could hop in his Z, and go shootin' too on the 17th (he's about 18 miles away from there, range is on his turf / Jacksonville). Hafta' give Jeff [Shrek] a call too here...

05/11 - 05/18; yeah, same week as BG :( - couldn't help that this year. Huge place - 9 beds / 3 levels. Only sis and stepmom will be there...

Scott, would love to I grew up in Portland in the shadow of Mt Tabor. Most the work is just time and labor. Unfortunately this car had never been cleaned even with only 26k miles it came from up north so it needed a bit of work. Scott the motor had some staining and discolor. most the staining come out but the color is still a bit dark but not bad for an aged LT5. I used Adams machine polish on it by hand and lots of rubbing.

This was before

Retirement ain't THAT fun, no matter HOW much $$ you have (if you got it by chance, not choice - head on with drinker / dis-ability). Ya' gotta' keep the noggin' busy... and just finished re-working the wheelchair ramp. I do NOT miss rolling up and down that thing for 4-5 months. And you think baby's first steps are a big deal? I remember mine 03/14/07. Lookin' around to see if my neighbors saw me. http://www.seekgod.ca/forum/images/smilies3/woohoo.gif
