56ZR1. Welcome aboard. Its a 2 piece unit with the thermostat housing and thermosat housing assembly together and are very HTF. These normally only surface during an engine part out and its always one of the first things to be asked for after the DIS module under the plenum.
White racing lists the thermostat housing itself for $298. Which is what you asked for...
http://www.whiteracingproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1467_8_39&products_id=83
He also lists the assmby but has a quantity of 0 at $878.14
However are you sure you just need the thermostat housing or both the thermostat housing and the thermostat housing assembly together? Big difference. GC
56ZR1 see my post below with pictures. The T-Housing Mates to the T-Housing Assembly and is sealed by an O-ring and a few bolts. Does this help?

Yep I remember that Cliff but I thinked that slipped off of Brett's back burner due to the price point. ANd he has SO many irons in the fire.

57 is my favorite classic. Do you have pics of your "in process" 56?
What a great project.
I have a couple of used ones, one of whiich has a broken off hearter hose adapter. A common problem, easily fixed. Just haven't had time to get it to a machine shop to have the broken part (dutchman) removed and threads chased. The other one is still intact with the pot-metal adapter. It really needs to be removed also & have a steel one installed.
email me at store@jerrysgaskets.com and we can discuss whether you want as-is or after they are fixed.

I have the entire unit NEW NOS in abox. It's 2 piece - thermostat housing and thermostat housing assembly.
Also have some NOS coolant hose sets, NOS spark plug sets and original FR2LS plugs, PCV NOS Hoses, oil filters etc.
Sounds like a fun project.

I guess I misrepresented what I wanted, It is the whole assembly that I need. unless there is a way to eliminate the thermostat without harming the motor, which I doubt there is.
