Really??? Hadn't noticed on this end; but Hughes.net isn't lightning speed anyway. Course my 4G Samsung...does seem slower at times, but signal (I assume) is the issue at those times (when only one or two bars).

How long has this been going on??

Yeah it was slow yesterday for sure. Was taking over 15 seconds to load a page or submit a post from my 4g phone...

The server and forum site itself is in need of an upgrade.

I also noticed the emails I receive from the forum are no longer a generic registry email but a member's email "ZR-1 Net Registry Forums <jim@gizmosart.com>"

Why did that change from the generic forum email?

Corvetteforum uses a generic:
forumsupport@corvetteforum.com

So does digital corvettes

I just think the generic forum email is much more professional, granted this is a club site not a commercial site, but I would still think to keep it consistent you would want that generic email.. what happens when that board member decides to step down, it will change again

It slow because the government is now spying on anything and everything lol :)

Here in Canada the ISP often throttle our bandwidth . Kinda makes me mad that you pay for a certain speed and they slow it down to handle all the traffic at peak times .
For some strange reason right now my iphone is being fast as hell on this forum . It is usually just a pig at anything with the latest update . I'll try my puter in a bit and see if the site is slow also . Often I notice that speeds will fluctuate constantly . Try speed test on your puter and see what speeds you are getting .

I changed the email address to my own email so that it is more personal. The Board appointed me as the Forum Administrator and I feel that Forum users should understand who is communicating with them.

It is the same reason that I put my name on every post. I like to think of the ZR-1 Net Registry Forum as a gathering of friends discussing our passion for the ZR-1.

I would be interested to hear other people's opinion about the emails.

That is an interesting perspective, but at the end of the day, that email that says I have a new post is just a bot/automated process essentially..

I was curious as to the way is it and I got my answer.

Thanks

Mine was slow last Fall.

I think it's our local ISP; maybe not Registry servers...

Either way, it would be a LOT slower if the pages had to load JUNK ads around the page perimeters.

If you're in Linux environment, open up a Command Line Interface, and ping the servers. It seems to work like greasing the rails of data blocks transmitting on the line.............................................. ..

Windows cuts off after 4 pings. AND, Windows is slower ANYway.

Get Linux. It's free, faster, more secure, more user-friendly nowadays (I think it's become too Windows-esque) etc.; even if you do Windows, you should load FireFox browser.
