To all that are participating in the Wanna go fast 1/2 mile race. I just thought of a way to make the event a challenge between all drivers.
Seeing as how all of our cars have different performance levels what if we took one car and all raced it to see who has the fastest speed?

I'm signed up; who else is? I have not personally met many here yet. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you.

Good to have ya and meet another Brother of the Beast!
SO FAR: Counting yourself, there are 9 "fer sher" ZR-1's that have spoken up and/or listed on the poll as registered to race, but still waiting to hear from Kevin Mitchel and Bob G. And, some others have said they'll be there to watch, bringing the total to maybe 15 or so gonna be there Sunday.
Oh, and you'll wanna stay tuned, cuz we're gonna have some sort of a pre-race gathering or BBQ or something Saturday evening and hoist one to the KOTH. Consider yourself invited. PM me re quartering arrangements.
BTW, I wuz Born & raised in IA and have 2 bros; one in the Okoboji area & one in Cedar Falls & have cousins and friends scattered about the state from end to end. Where do you hale from?
Paul.

Paul,
I am planning on just coming up on Sunday to watch. Has your phoenix risen again?

Paul,
Kevin is signed up. However, it's tentative based on assessing the damage to his motor from the Crown Point Corvette Challenge last year. BobG may slot in if Kevin has to DNS. If Todd can't make the BG 1/4 mile, maybe he could be ready for the 1/2mile instead. I think we have enough slots to allow him to run should he decide to do so. Whaddya think Todd!

Paul, I have two spots. I can always let one of the Big Cube cars take one of my spots if needed.

Not quite risen yet. I'm not quite satisfied with the bumper frame horns; everything is at the extreme limits - no shims to take out - and stuff is "this close" to lining up...by won't yet.:censored: Another trip to the frame shop to tweak the horns about 1/2" should do the trick.
I've got all the big pieces except the windshield, and painting. I've got to have a break in this friggin winter snow situation before I can even get the car out of storage to get it over to the frame shop. Once that happens, things should come together quickly - barring further surprises along the way.
I was hoping to have it together possibly by Marc's spring BBQ. But, certainly by the BG gathering(!?), OR the 1/2 shootout at LEAST!!:o

Paul,
If this weather keeps up, I may need to switch to snow tires to run the 1/2 mile!
