I went out to Firebird yesterday and the outcome is below.
There were four classes being contested for those that qualified in the 100 MPH Club this year.

100-102 MPH
103-109 MPH
110 + MPH
Street Bike

I won the 103-109 MPH Eliminator (got a good sized trophy and a hat). Then there was a runoff between the Champions of each class for a HUGE trophy. I redlit in the first round of the Championship run-off by -.006.

This was the highlight of the race for me. In one race in particular, a guy with a ‘70ish Camaro dialed at 12.80 tried to fender race me. He had that fender on me and was playing towards the end, but then he just barely let that fender go at about 1250’ (give or take) and then couldn’t get it back :-({|= ‘cause the ZR-1 was pullin’ like a bitch then in 3rd gear. I was chuckling ‘cause I thought that was what would happen.

Car ran a best of 13.372 @ 108.06 in 4000’ air.

Good write up John! When you say fender racing, do you mean the guys playing with you, by jockeying the throttle?

Cool Story!

Did you send for the Langka?

That post is almost a year old. That goofball that spammed it brought it back to the top though. As a matter of fact, I just got the kit today and will be trying it later.

I went out last night and laid down a 12.993 @ 109.43 pass.

I was the quickest Vette out last night. There was my bud's Callaway, an '02 Z06, several C5's and an '06 Z06. The '06 was obviously driver error or track prep or a combo of both, but not the rest. We all ran on the same track. The "King" was alive and beatin' up on the newbies. LOL

My times were:
13.20 @ 108 Left at too low RPM, but still an OK run
12.99 @ 109 Great run, best at Firebird
13.60 @ 109 Blew the tires off

And all this with a high idle issue. See my post in the tech section.

Great job Hammer of showing the new kids the meaning of respect the ZR-1 way.
Sounds like your LT5 may be still a little excited from all those kills.

I'm having a great time and the LT-5 is getting some good exercise.
