I was pulling my 91 into the garage and decided to check my average MPG. Pushed the button and all I got was SYS flashing not only that but the power switch is not working and the temp control unit is out, no lights no temp no nothing. Checked the fuses they seem fine, what kind of gremlin is messing with my Z now.

Sys is usually associated with the battery. Either it has/is going bad or the connection is going bad.

Battery is 6 months new, volts read normal, starts strong and lights are bright. Speedo, fuel gauge are fine, but the fuel info stays on INST and reads 0 at all times. When I try to change to average, range or trip it flashes SYS. Odometer works fine also.

Check the actual battery voltage. If the voltage is down a little...the SYS light will flash...once the charge is restored it usually goes away. I suspect it's a common problem among ZR-1s that are not driven a lot...like mine. I had it too on the way to Vegas last month...it went away once I got a good charge on the batery.

But would that also cause the temp control and full power to go out? Seems like a hell of a coincidence for all three to stop working at once.

It can yes. Low voltage is a strange beast in itself...electronic things behave very strange when they are down on voltage...

I will check the battery and charging system, thanks.
