I've been browsing around this forum for a few months now,and have received plenty of advice after purchasing 1990 #1964 from California sight unseen.
It was time for me to pay for what tools I've used.
The car has 20k miles and was in need of slight TLC. For the most part the car was very nice but needed the normal stuff that plagues any corvette from sitting.
While the car is nothing more than a garage queen unless the weather is nice, the ZR-1 has always intrigued me with it's history. When I was 12 years old, my brother who was a senior in high school had a good friend who was lucky enough to have purchased a 1990 red on red ZR-1........I rode in that car and vowed to own one someday.
My dad always kept my brother and myself busy working on cars and now has garages that house about 50 in total. My brother has always had a deep passion for Camaro's, mine was always Corvette's owning a total of nine over the past several years. I do still have a 1967 Camaro which my dad built for me in high school, yeah it's a 350ss 4spd red on red. The car has had approx 200 miles on it since being finished in 1990.
Enough about me and I hope I can help contribute to this forum in support of members and the group in general.

welcome to the club. I will be going to mecum this friday and saturday. I want to see the callaways sell and the sledgehammer also. expect to see over 700k for that sledgehammer corvette. I will be in a zr1 shirt with my wife this time to look at cars. I will not be a participant like last year. Saturday I will hit the ncrs show and swap meet. This is an excellent venue and highly recommend it to my friends. One zr1 sold already for 21k.. 1991 white/red interior with 21k miles. roger judski is unloading several extremely low mileage zr1's saturday. 2 years ago I saw a lingenfelter red/red widebody 415 stroker sell for 34k!! I saw that car in person and it was absolutely gorgeous. Last year was caught sleeping and saw a 1990 50k mile black/red interior z sell for 13k. It missed my radar eyes and since I did not inspect it, I did not bid on it when it surprised me on the block and bidding began.
Hope to see somebody at mecum. ed ramos #3028

Dave,
I am taking my wife this year. Usually I go with my brother or alone so I can cover more territory but I invited her this year since she hasn't complained with my zr1 purchase and parts etc.. My plans are to get there around 9-10 am at mecum and look at cars that will hit the block later in the day. I want to take pics of the callaways and sledgehammer along with zr1's. then at around 2 pm will go check in at homewood suites in orlando and settle in until 5 or 6 pm then head back to mecum to see the sledgehammer being sold. Saturday I will be going to ncrs to see swap meet area and some of the cars particularly c4 zr1's if there are any. then go home around 3 pm so I can feed my cats. I am not boarding my 2 ragdoll cats this time so my stay will be limited.
I will be looking for some guys with zr1 stuff on or registry shirts whatever else to see if we can meet up at mecum. I dont think we can make the bbq seeing that my wife is not yet fluent in english I would not want to bore her which I have done many times. I hope to see some of you at the auction.

We had a big cadillac motor in the 39 Chevy Coupe. Wanting to say 47?, it was removed and a SB 350 was installed.
The engine offered in the '47 Cadillacs were 346ci, and rated at 150 hp, so they weren't really all that big. I can see why you swapped it for a 350.
The engine I'm using in my '56 is a 500ci from a '76 SDV. It was rated at 190 hp, and 360 lb/ft of torque. They are easy motors to get 750 hp out of and they are ridiculous torque monsters. Mine makes over 1,000 lb/ft and 1,100 hp. It seems to move the car down the road in an OK manner :)
