Hey Carter, I eliminated my TB coolant. I'm looking for something to plug the small line with. Dynomite has a nice shot of bling on his car. Just below the radiator tank, you can see he eliminated the tb coolant line and had to piece together a plug for the line. I'm looking for a one piece plug, maybe you already have something, I can't find anything anywhere. -Steve

Yea, I have seen many people do the conversion but not much eye apeal. I can machine you something that'll look cool but need specs. Wonder if anyone else would be interested in have a cool termination to that hose? Let me know what you need

Here we go again :D
Carter will AWAYS machine something better I can guarantee it.
What I have now is just a brass nipple that fits inside that rubber hose end with a brass cap on it. I am thinking it was a 3/8 inch brass nipple with a 3/8 inch male thread and a 3/8 inch cap screwed on.

His best yet is the fuel line bracket with 91 engraved and painted in red on one end and 87 on the other end (so I know what chip I have in ECM).....second best is his Oil filter aluminum slip on cover......
Carter is soooooo good at this Bling stuff it is unbelievable :handshak:

The od of the hose is about 11/16th. Not sure of the id. I used a piece of 3/8" round stock and a heat shrink. The round stock is loose, but worked ok. I'm thinking something with a rounded head that would be the od of the hose. So, 11/16th od, with rounded off head, or something machined, and about a 3/8th" stem and some sort of barb to hold it in place. I can cut off the end of my hose with the round stock in it, I hate the way it looks, send it to you and see what you can come up with.
I bring this up in the general forum thinking others that have eliminated their tb coolant may be interested, or have a better idea.

I will take a look and think of something interesting for engraving.........Maybe "COOL" ;)
I left about 2 inches of rubber hose on mine just in case my experiment did not work first try.
I will take a close up shot now for ya.....and size the hose and Carter will come up with something I am positive.
The ID of the hose is 3/8 inch fitting on a 3/8 OD Pipe nipple.

I would think something similar to this one. Anything short of "barbed" similar to this I think might fall short. This is maybe an "incorrect" dimension but a correct ID I never did see mentioned. This one is 3/8".

I will need (would like) two sent to CA. E-mail me total and Paypal. And when we are at it.... Some Etching......1991 etched on one and 1990 etched on the other in nice letters exactly like the Fuel Line Clamp....(as deep and as red). My top of this Hose Plug is vertical and easily seen beside the fuel line clamp. That would tell me right away which ZR-1 I am driving when I check the oil :D

And explain to me exactly what heat shrink wrap (you said Gates) is tight enough to keep the coolant 15 psi from leaking out around the plug. Exactly what heat shrink wrap, where to get it, and exactly how it was applied

Efnfast can chime in but the plug is NOT just a 3/8 plug. The plug is tight without the heat shrink as he can attest.

That Gates Shrink Tube (Gates Power Grip Clamps) seems pretty tough stuff :p
Gates Power Grip Clamps (http://www.jegs.com/p/Gates/Gates-Power-Grip-Clamps/943359/10002/-1)
Looks like a Gates 465-32915 or 465-32919 or 465-32922 Gates Power Grip Clamp.
I took my calipers out and yep .68 more or less as rubber is hard to measure. Now that is right on 11/16 inch so which Gates Power Grip do we use? The one that goes from 1/2 to 11/16 (465-32915) or the one that goes from 11/16 to 13/16 (465-32919)? The first one might not fit on the hose and the last one might be too lose :D
You can also find them on Ebay...for 1/4 inch hose, 3/8 inch hose, or 1/2 inch hose......and larger.

Your dip stick handle is on the list but has a few customers ahead of it. Hang in there :p
I would think the Billet Aluminum Dipstick Handle would be of interest
a. The original plastic is often cracked and hard to see.
b. The original plastic handle is easy to remove from the metal dip stick with a hammer :D
c. The New Carter Billet Dipstick Handle can be easily attached to existing metal dip stick.
d. The New Carter Billet Dipstick Handle can have etched the exact engine oil used.
e. The original Dipsticks are hard to find if a replacement is needed.
f. The New Carter Billet Dipstick Handle would be easy to see and match other Carter Bling.
g. If you change your mind on the etching, just get another Billet Aluminum Dipstick Handle and replace.
h. And Last but Not Least.......there might be lots of LT5 Dipsticks available that have otherwise been discarded because the original Plastic Handles are cracked.

A few of us Block Off TB Coolant. Most of those that do Block Off TB Coolant Bypass TB Coolant using the TB Heat Bypass Line (http://www.zr1specialist.com/HAT%20Web/products/throttle%20body%20heat%20bypass.htm) made by Marc Haibeck or similar hose that accomplishes the Coolant Bypass of the TB. This leaves the Coolant flow to the Coolant overflow tank in front of the passenger side Intact. This reduces the fear of an Air Locked Water Pump.
That leaves only a very small handful (less than a handful actually) that blocked Off TB Coolant as well as Plenum Coolant (Top of Injector Housing Coolant Port). A Total of six Allen Head 1/8 inch pipe plugs are used. The Coolant Flow Path through the Plenum has nothing to do with Cooling the Plenum but only a route for Coolant to/from the TB and a vent for the air trapped in the Injector Housing Coolant Manifolds and Water Pump. And.........that coolant flow through the TB has nothing to do with cooling the TB but rather heating the TB. Only this very small handful of ZR1 owners would need the Coolant Bypass Plug described herein.
I have experimented with the Air Locked Water Pump and have found a fool proof way of eliminating that issue once and for all. My Plenum can come off at any time in minutes with NO Coolant draining or spilled. But I digress here :sign10:

PM me for price and payment info. Thanks, Carter200
The plate is shiny like the throttle body plate but does not reflect that in the pics. Thickness is .120 -.130

Carter, can you post a photo of the ZR-1 fender emblems? Those are what I saw on Dennis's car.
What's the best way to get the factory emblems off the car w/o screwing up the paint?

Cliff,
The best way I heard was with dental floss and saw your way back and forth while pull along the emblem.

Carter, Thanks again for making the rear LT5 plate. Here is what it looks like on the car. I like it. We'll see if anyone notices it.

Carter.........How about a quote on everything for a ZR1?
Covers for coolant (overflow and surge), break reservoir, power steering, wiper fluid, oil filter. And. TB coolant cover etched (all civers etched as before) with AMSOIL on filter cover.
And maybe something I forgot :D

Frank,
Thanks for posting the pic and it looks great! I'm currently working with Frank on a new item that I know you guys and gals will love. It'll be unvailed after I finish a few projects that are in front of this one.
Keep us posted on people's responses. Thanks again, Carter :dancing
