the car only has 37,000 miles very well kept.
it just needs a tune-up.

Welcome Yuri.
I love Italy. I returned there again this year (actually last year now) and spent July just having fun in 6 cities.

Does the car idle rough? Is that why you want to tune it up?
If so and if the car is original and it has been sitting a lot then
the injectors may need attention. If the injectors are original
they maybe sticking. Inspecting the spark plugs is a good place
to start too. Be aware, #8 plug is tricky. We've all developed our
own tricks to getting that one out :)

Do you feel comfortable working on the car yourself or will you
be taking it to a mechanic?

Again, welcome. You're in the right place for help on the ZR-1.

thanks for the warm welcome.
I'll tell you in two words the history of the car.
After three long years of research I finally managed to find a collector who was interested in selling it.
after three months of negotiations finally sold it.
the corvette is a first series of 1990 red with red interior, what I loved most, two previous owners, like new with only 59,000 km.
the car is all working, excellent paint never damaged.
the only problem is that it has not been used for three years,, so it needs fine-tuning.
Dynomite I have followed your work, indeed masterpiece, you have my respect.
nice post even after you've published.

here in Italy there are about 20 c4 zr-1, a dear friend of mine has one, while the other two acquaintances, one has 4 and the other, a mechanic has 5 corvette c4 zr-1.

scottfab, where have you been in Italy?

This trip it was in Sorrento, Naples, Rome, Florence, Pisa and Venice.
Each has something wonderful about it.
I think you have to be very brave to drive in Italy :)

If you haven't already, take time to visit the club webpage at:

for lots of information. Each article is clearly labeled as to who
the author is.

I too have a Red 90 with red interior. It is one of the very
first production run with serial #0064.
I approaching the magic 100k miles.

Welcome! Some Italian blood in my veins. My grandmother was a Bartoletti. I can't remember if there were 2 "L"s or 2 "T"s.

not bad your Italian!

sorry, out of habit I wrote in Italian.
back to us, I made a nice cut to the car, but stopped three years, they have done damage.
I should open a post on the technical forum, what do you think?
I think it is more correct:handshak:

Sure the tech area is great for help on fixing issues.
For clarity it is best to keep a separate thread for each issue,
for instance maybe one for the sound system and one for a rough
idle and yet another one for tire issues. Do you see?

We're here to help mostly by pointing you at threads and tech articles that others have done or by passing on to you what we ourselves have learned from others.

My grandmother was actually born in the US in 1891. However, her parents immigrated from northern Italy.

hello and thanks 4CAM, I really love america america.
I have friends in Maiami.
in Italy there are many beautiful things, but also a lot of bad and a political class disgusting, shameful!
the majority of Italians have sports cars just to make the snobs, there are few, true motor enthusiasts.
Italian cars are expensive and unreliable, deliberately!
I love the v8 since I was a child, after years of sacrifice I finally fulfilled my dream.
I put a picture im more on Saturday with a friend
