For those living in the coastal region (Myrtle Beach)South Carolina, are the emission control regulations ZR1 friendly?
Thanks

Don't know about the Carolina's but in Ga. its just another car. Good news is after 25 years old you are exempt.

Hey Don and Happy New Year! If you are wondering about such a thing as a state inspection, no fears. They did away with that years ago. The only thing I've ever heard anyone having a problem was with an old clunker that smoked like a freight train. Guy got pulled and cited but I'm not sure what for. But like I said, no state inspection or emissions testing to worry about. I'm in Florence which is about an hour away from Myrtle Beach. Let me know if you are planning on a move.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Jim, I will give you a heads up if we decide the move to SC. Right now it is very high on our list. We are considering the Conway area as it seems to have a nice atmosphere yet is away from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach.
I do almost all my own mechanical work except for the real heavy stuff like R and R of the clutch/tranny. If you know of a good Corvette repair shop in the area I would appreciate a link or web site for the shop.
The car being 25 years old is a plus but we put about 10K per year and that is over the limit at least for our insurance company. Don't know what the state regulations are on classic cars.
Thanks again for the info
Cheers,
Don

Myrtle Beach, and NORTH Myrtle Beach used to be 2 different worlds.
North Myrtle was more hustle and bustle, MB WAS less so; haven't been there in a few years...

Personally I'm not that much of a beach person. My wife is from Charleston and I really like that atmosphere much better than MB. Summerville is just a short hop from downtown Charleston and has some very nice areas. There's a shop down there named Jamison's Custom Corvette that has been recommended to me many times although I've never used them.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for the replies on SC being ZR1 friendly now how about North Carolina. I notice that there are 11 ZR1's in NC so I guess it is also ZR1 friendly. Could anyone in NC expand on my assumptions. Again we are looking at the coastal area near Cape Fear.
Thanks,
