I have some extra shocks (front and rear) I want to have rebuilt and revalved. Is it possible to powdercoat them before I send them to Bilstein and where can I get new rubber or poly bushings for them?

Sure but what if the shocks you send to them are not in a rebuildable by Bilstein condition? I think that is unlikely but it's a possibility. Also during tear down its possible the coating also could become damaged during the process. Just some thoughts

DRM used to carry the bushings if not I'm sure Bilstein does. GC

I thought about that too, but Bilstein doesn't paint them, they just apply new stickers-looks pretty silly on old dirty shocks.

Something to think about. During the powder coat process the shocks will see 400 degrees F in the oven to cure the resin. To be safe I would fully disassemble first.

Wow, in that case maybe painting would be better!

I agree and your not saving that much on the rebuild. I only like the rebuild idea if your going with a moracca or senza valving to help in auto crossing.

Is the Moracca valving only good for autocrossing? I want a stiffer valving to go with my coilovers.

Yep very stiff... haven't tried performance yet...

Have Maracca valving w coil overs. Like my ride taut like a German car.

Question - how do you know if your shocks are bad? Does the dash light come on or is that just if the "select ride" components go bad?
I'm mechanically inclined - but Vettes are new to me - so I don't really know what the ride should "feel like". I know if I select "touring" it feels as if the rear has an exercise ball in it for suspension. Better on the other two settings but still feels like it "bounces" a bit. Car has less then 20k miles?

Normally a leak is a first indication of trouble however these shocks will leak a little bit. If a service FX dash light comes on it means one of the 4 power actuators is out of cycle. You will need to pull the codes to determine which one. At startup all four are commanded to turn their valves back and forth and report ok. Sometimes the plastic gears in the actuator break so they need to be replaced however that has never happened to me. Normally they break when forcefully installed then the top metal gear breaks em. The system works while at speed changing the internal valving as you go. As stated the tour setting is the most comfortable ride possible. The other two position taut the ride further. GC

No codes on mine. It just bounces a lot on "tour" setting. I run on "performance" most of the time and it's still a little bouncy. Maybe I should just put it on the stiffest and leave it...
