I had a extra set of A-molds that were pretty beat up, so I had them powder coated black and mounted some GS-D3's on them with no air pressure sensors. Put them on my 94 expecting to get a service LTPWS light. Drove for 30 to 40 minutes and no light, turned the car off then drove for another ten still no light. The bulbs are still in the info center, light up fine when the keys is turned to on. Is it possible the 1st owner had the system turned off some how. Dont get me wrong I'm very happy that I dont have to remove the bulbs, but pretty shocked also.

I've heard that the LTPWS light won't come on in a '90 or a '91, but that it would throw a code in the '92-'95's.
Does it have an aftermarket PROM?

Yes, but not sure who burned it. A company out of New York is all I know about it. I did'nt think you could program it off with the PROM. I have a 91 with no sensors and no codes. But did'nt expect the same with the 94.

On my MY95 I can do 120 miles in 5 separate times without setting the lights in a track event without the sensors. If I do another day of event the lights usually come on. Several criterias must be met before a driving session is counted by the computer. So, what I'm suggesting is that your light will come on in time. Report back after another 200 or so miles.

Tom, Pete thanks for the replys. I'll have some more fun with it and check back after some more time behind the wheel.

Pete you where correct, third time driving her after 75 miles light came on. The owners manual says that the dealership can turn off the system, has anyone done that or know anything about it.

As far as I know the dealer cannot "turn off" the system. They can clear the code (and the warning light), but it will come back again without the sensors. You can also clear the code yourself by grounding pins. Every time I do it I have to look up the exact procedure because it is easy to miss it. It is 3 on and off and usually I get it the second time. Once you put your wheels with the sensors back on the car you still need to clear the code, it doesn't clear it by itself. This is something that GM should have addressed in my opinion.

if you want the light off...remove the bulb. Easy fix. :-) THere are differences between the different model years regarding the LTPWS...(should be called the LTPWSPOS). All of the differences are moot if you have removed the system and don't want the light to come on. Just take out the bulb.

Thats what I'm gonna do, I have a new red leather shift boot I need to install so I have another reason to pull the center piece off. Thanks for the help.
P.S. You are so right LTPWSPOS.
