Christmas came a bit sooner this year. Just got my Z06 rear brake conversion kit from Street Shop. Well packed and impressive machining. Uses the C6 eBrake unit. Ricky will be sending me info on brake cable install etc. Figured I would
do this while I have access to eBrake from interior conversion.

How much was the rear adapter setup?

Very nice machining!!

With Roberts new discount with wilwood, might consider 2 piece rotors

Nice addition!!

We are trying to get a discount with Wilwood. There is no guarantee at this point.

I'd guess the intention here is to get "a match" on all 4 wheels. I understand that desire.

Dave,

The cost is $696 including the adapter and the C6 eBrake. I think I'll be using a C5 brake cable. 2 piece rotor would be nice for the front. The stock rotors are massive.

Rich,

The rear rotors r 13". They'll fill out the 19" Z06 wheels on the rear. Right now the stock rear brakes look minuscule.

David,
You considering retiring that block of wood you've been carrying around and using for an emergency brake?

I thought Dave had someone remove the chocks from his wheels before
"takeoff".

Haha! Haven't needed the e brake but it's a smart upgrade. Yun was working on it but haven't heard any updates. He's a little busy with the engine upgrade.

Ricky,

Thx. The more the better. Also , any specs on adapters and the cable u used. Understand a C5 cable will work w mods.

Doesn't the rear brake adapter mount on the outboard side of the rotor? Do you anticipate the brake adapter to require you to change the spacers you used to correct the wheel offset? Thanks.

I think the adapters Dom is referring to in the quoted post are to get the ebrake to work on his c4.

I am doing the 87 ebrake so I have a working one,I use it all the time on the Kwik lift.

One reason for the 87 is I have everything for that with 2 PC rotors and nice calipers

Scott,

No I don't think there should be any change. If u look at the first pics I posted of the adapters, the hub bearing will sit inside of the eBrake shoes. There's a relief cut into the adapter as you can see. The dimensions should remain the same as now since the hub bearing doesn't move in or out.
The front brake adapters also mount inward of the rotor but outward of the front spindle. This pushes the caliper outward, I believe its 9mm, to center over the stock rotor.
BTW, with the front adapters I got, it was necessary to do some minor grinding.
Also necessary to use some washers for proper spacing to center the caliper over the rotor.
And yes =Jeff= is correct I was referring to "adapters" for the eBrake cable etc.

Would like to do this with a set of wilwoods to match the front 6 Pistons I wonder if this adapter bracket will work with the 12 inch rear rotors. I have 17 inch rears and 2 piece rotors already any idea Dom ? Who is the POC for at the brake folks ?

GC,

Don't think it works for 12" rotors. The adapters have mounting "ears" dimensioned for the Z06 rear rotors. That means it's not only designed for a 13" dia. But also for the Z06 rotor offset.

Ok trying to match the front end somebody has to have a solution to retain the parking brake on the standard size rotor I'd imagine. Thanks GC

GC stock rear c5 will work with the adapters Dominic has

I just have trouble with the $700 then having to cut and mod things. I am working out a solution to use the 87 adapter then you need the 87 wilwood kit..

I will have more info for my rear set-up in a few weeks.. Using C6 calipers

did you ever work out a solution that would allow the 87 kit?

It never got installed but here is what I had come up with..

First off the 87 Brake adapter needs to be machined to fit on the 89-later rear knuckle. I have a set that are machined. There is a thin spacer (I forget if it goes against the knuckle or elsewhere in line, I need to look again. The adapter and spacer give you the same depth as the OE Caliper mount on the 89-later

Now you have options for the Caliper assemblies:

OEM 87 stuff
Wilwood 87 later kit
C5 Caliper adapter brackets (Source on eBay), rotors and modified 87 brake shoes to fit the C5 rotors along with C5 Calipers. I forget which rotors will work, but I bought a set.

I actually have a set fo Brembos (big 4 piston calipers) that could be used on the rear, with 2 pc rotors and I have the correct hats with drum in them. I think the Brembo Calipers are a bit too big for me, but if you had a bigger front caliper these would work fine. I even think my 2 pc rotors will work with the Wilwood brackets and Calipers. I never finished mocking it all up, I think it could be done fairly easy, I think WV offered to send me a Knuckle to mock it all up..

I was going to do Brembos front and rear, but swapped for the 6 piston Wilwoods in front and sold the front Brembos.. just never did anything with the rear
