When is ETA for pick up? are you coming to get it or is the car getting shipped?

No ETA yet, The original plan was to fly back up and drive home with my son but than it was estimated to be ready in 6-8 weeks. At this time of year I don't have the time to do that so I will have it shipped home.

Looks great. It will be worth the wait. For a look at a finshed product, you can see pix of mine in my albums. The only difference is I used black bolts --Bob

I recommend getting it done! As Mickey Thompson once said, "Too much horsepower is almost enough"

AND...The beauty of the "500 package" is it retains its drivability and reliability and gas mileage and still keeping the stock idle!

Adding 100 or so horses at the rear wheels without add-ons (except headers/cat-back) or giving up anything...is a pretty neat trick in anybody's book, and completely changes the personality of the car!

About half what I paid for the car in 02..:) But i had a lot more done than just the 510HP package

I think between $8-10K including porting, headers, fidanza flywheel, etc

I'm sure it can be done cheaper if you do a lot of the work yourself, For me it was a once in a lifetime deal and I wanted it done by the best.

Maybe worth noting that a "500" package can be broken up into consecutive "phases". With all the associated "phase-I" trimmings (except the head porting - call it "phase-II", if you will) the result will be about 80+% of the entire "500 hp" package for approx 40% of the total cost investment to complete the entire package (with the exception of plenum and IH gaskets).

What that means is you can get around 390-400 rwhp (w/ exhaust, tuning, etc.) without loosing the investment should you decide to complete the package later. Think of it this way: This will give you about 20 to 30 more peak rwhp than a stock LS3 C6...AND, that's before finishing the head work (if that interests you!);)

Gotta LUV the LT5!

I couldn't agree more. I took the same approach having known Marc since 1994. There are many in this hobby and on this forum who are excellent at doing the same thing and whose work I would always trust. Can't speak to their costs. But I know Marc and son Bob are true experts when it comes to our cars and due to my proximity to their shop (about 45 minutes) and my long relationship with Marc, I had him do the work. He is a talented expert with long experience and I am happy to say a great friend. I believe that when our cars become sought after as collectibles (long after I am gone I am sure) having a Haibeck 485/500/510 package will be like having a Yenko, Nickey or Motion name attached, although a stock Bloomington Gold car still may trump that. But what fun we will have in the meantime! -- Bob
